Very high quality restoration. They started with a clean 45,000 mile rust free car. This car was a blue ribbon winner at 3 upstate NY car shows. Top of the line Starchief Custom Catalina hardtop. great driver too, it has factory power steering and brakes. Cold a/c was just added!
EXTERIOR: Outstanding fit and finishes. I don't mean it's very good, I mean it is excellent! The chrome was sent to The Plating House in Ontario. Up front the massive amount of chrome is show quality. All the stainless moldings down the sides and around the windows are straight and polished like chrome. In back also has massive amounts of stylish chrome, all show quality. Features include fender spears, deluxe mirror, rocker trim, door handle guards and the 4 stars designate the premium Starchief model. New radial wide white wall tires on blue painted rims look great. Deluxe hubcaps are in excellent shape. The windshield has a stone chip but it's actually the original. The body's pristine. It's straight, there's no bubbles, rust or damage. Every panel fits square and flush. Doors click shut, the "flippers" work. The paint is better than it left the factory, smooth and glossy. The colors are refreshing, the white with the blue accents are great.
INTERIOR: The interior was just redone and it was done to a really high standard. It's gorgeous inside. The seats were recushioned so the new upholstery fits tight as a drum. Has the correct blue fabric with star medalions and white genuine leather trim. The door panels are completely redone in blue and white and have plenty of chrome trim. Has the correct, very short loop carpet with the sewn edges. The steering wheel is beautiful and in mint condition. The dash area is really nice. All the chrome sparkles, even the glovebox door is chrome. Traffic light view finder is on the dash. Interior lights work. Overhead the white headliner is excellent and has the chrome ribs. I love the pedals, both trimmed in chrome. The brake says brake, gas says power!
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Detailed to show quality, factory original condition. The entire engine bay is painted beautifully. The 347 engine was rebuilt by Precision Machine. The power brake booster and master were just expertly rebuilt by California Pontiac Restoration. The charging system was tested-the battery is new and generator was rebuilt. Everything is detailed- brackets, wires, carburetor, etc. Has the correct, big air cleaner. It also features power steering and power brakes. New air conditioning system was just installed.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Huge trunk compartment, all solid metal. Very clean. Has the proper insulated mat, reproduction white wall on blue painted rim. It has the complete jack assembly mounted properly. New weatherstrip.
UNDERSIDE: Very tidy. Everything is cleaned and painted. Floors look rock solid, no rust. Bottom of the motor is spotless. Has original Hydramatic trans. $1500 was just spent resealing the trans. The rear end was just serviced with new fluid and gaskets. It has correct spiral shocks in back. Correct type exhaust system.
Really, this car is quality. I am very impressed by its condition. Not to mention it is very stylish and classy. Someone will be very proud to own this car. It is also turn key ready to drive, fluids were recently changed and chassis was lubed. The owner spent $3800 servicing this car recently and has been using it.

You are correct....both statements!
A nice car??? It is absolutely stunning.........a product of the most exciting time in American motoring.....the 50s......I wish we Australians had access to these automotive works of art. Les Griffiths
The item on the dash is a prism. It allows the driver in first position at a traffic light so see the light from the normal driving position. I.e., without having to twist around and look up through the windsheild.
Such a cool ride! I'd take this one over the Chevy Belair
Agree on the trunk light, why can't we do this today :) Beautiful, stunning Pontiac!
I was watching a 1958 episode of perry mason the other night and someone pulled up in one like that. Yours is really beautiful 😊
*BEAUTIFUL* automobile... *ART* on wheels! 😍
Man I love it when you guys get these kinds of cars in. Just screams 1950s American culture
My dad had this same car when he married my mom in 59. Same colors, except his was a convertible. BTW, if that's the stock engine, it would be a 347. Also came with tri-power. Love that car and makes me think of the stories he would tell me about it.
What class Love the 57 Pontiac 👍👍👍👍👍👍😀

Oh yeah! 😃
Wow! Another one from the era when I was growing up, and what memories this one brings! You're right in saying that the blue top pops! It really sets the car off. Every single thing about this car is amazing. What's not to love in this one? Real class!! P.S: I have no idea how you continue to acquire these cars, but I've watched this video twice now, and it gets better each time! Lol

i was the original person who rescued this car and did the first restoration, wish i still had it.
Beautiful Pontiac !
That item on the dash would tell the driver when the traffic light changed color if you couldn’t see the traffic light from where you stopped your car under the traffic light.
I had the absolute pleasure to visit this museum a few years back when I was visiting a friend in Illinois and she knew I was absolutely 1:25 all about cars and let me tell you I was not disappointed it is a car fanatics dream.
My dad never bought a new car until he was 51yo. He bought a '57 Pontiac and drove it for less than a year and then sold it and bought a used Rambler, which he drove for about 6 years. Then in 1963, he bought a '64 Chevy II. It was a good car. Only a six cylinder, but had plenty of passing power on the freeway. He hated it because it had a cracked intake manifold, which he never had replaced. He drove that car for 6 or 7 years.
Beautiful! Just needs dual exhaust w/glass packs and it'd be perfect.
I love that car.
I believe that mystery object on the dash was a sensor that detected oncoming headlights and would turn the high beams off.

Not quite, but good guess. It was to see high hanging traffic lights better.

And no mag wheels! Yay!
In 1965 I bought a Star Chief Safari (the Pontiac "Nomad") from the original owner. It was the identical color scheme but my roof was white (which I prefer and, by the way, the blue on the top of yours appears to be a metallic that doesn't match the side trim). It was loaded, down to factory air, the "Wonderbar" radio, and power everything. The only option it didn't have was three two barrel carbs on the 347 c.i. V8. I've always wondered what became of that car after I sold it on a few years later. They have become very collectible as Pontiac made fewer than 3,000 in '57.
Same car different day, LOL. THANK YOU
The object on the dash is a traffic light viewer
1 word Gorgeous 😊❤ Merry Christmas to you and your family Jay🤶🎅🍻🍺 Cheers🍺🍻 KC Cradle Mountain Tasmania Australia 🇦🇺🤝🇺🇸😎👍
bonneville is above this?
A Kaiser/ Frazer would be an interesting find, possibly a bit harder to find OEM parts for, but not everyone has one. The 53 Manhattan could mimic that Pontiac albeit sans the copious chromium accoutrements.

Reflection for red lights
look super, too bad i cant lick the oil pan from mine. but they are fast and different
Pontiac was the only car that had that
Yeah, that detected it bright headlights of another car and when it did it dem yours
It had a jetaway tran, not hy dro
I love the 50s cars. But parts for anything but Chevrolet and Ford are a problem.
