1956 GMC GREYHOUND SCENICRUISER PD 4501-907

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Check out this 1956 GMC Greyhound Scenicruiser, GMC PD 4501-907, belonging to a very nice Brazilian couple, Soldanha and Alice.
I have been wanting to film this bus for a long time now. I really would love to own it.
Go check out their Tik Tok and follow along on their journey of fixing it up and driving it to Brazil.
Thank you.

Keep up the good work! I hope he gets it all together I drove one of these for a summer in 1981 and a couple additional trips in 1982. Our bus had the upper section converted to bunks, 3-high with the middle one folding down to create bench seats front to back. We nick-named ours 'Moby' as it was mostly painted white with 'Christian Adventures' painted in huge letters on the side in orange. The name 'Moby' was also in the front destination sign. We drove over 17,000 miles that summer as far south as Key West, FL, as far West as San Francisco, CA, as far north as Mackinac Michigan, and as far east as Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. We loaded the luggage bays with disassembled bicycles, while all the luggage followed in a van. During the bicycle trips the luggage bays had our tents and cooking gear and groceries and myself and the cook ran stop to stop, picking up groceries, and cooking at each stop. The van followed the bikers with parts, water, and first aid as needed. If anyone ever sees one of these busses with 'Moby' in the front window and a huge CA on the sides, please tag me! Last I had heard our bus broke down in the Rocky Mountains about 1983 when the driver that took over after me lugged it too low too many times and destroyed the engine. The tour group didn't have the money to fix it and sold it to a yard, rented a newer bus, and so far as we know it's not been seen since. 😞 😞

Yes it is, but they can do it. It's actually a very good bus despite how it looks. We drove it today. First time under its own power in 40 years. Thanks for commenting.

I used to drive the canyon often and saw that bus sitting on the other side of the highway. I even stopped once and talked to the owner, getting his info which I passed on to a fellow in the US who was looking for one. It's good to know someone has finally saved it! I sure wouldn't want to try a trip like that myself!

Of all the times I have driven through there I never noticed this wonderful old bus. I was considering buying one that was in much better condition many years ago when I was a young man but not enough money. I thought it would make a great live aboard RV and truly wish I had been able to get it. They have a lot of work to do but what a find. And again im so surprised I never noticed it.

Greetings from London, wow that Greyhound is different, really nice, thanks for the info and sharing - that might be an option using the bus for another because Mr Brazilian is not going no where fast with a one man show, that is too much work for one person with the best intensions -- get share, nice one - the drone is handy

This is so cool!! I have a photo of this coach taken in 2009 with a for sale sign in the front window. It was parked elsewhere at the time (Clinton-Spences area), but appears to have all the same markings. I think there is currently another one parked on the south side of Clinton across from the antique store?
