I am now 80. No bijli in my res. But, next door people were well off. I use to hear these songs played by Radio Ceylon from their radios. Rafi's MERI ZINDAGI BHAR MAINE ROTHAHI RAHA HOON, the soulful pathetic song I still remember. These are evergreen songs played at functions in forties & fifties.
