I thought you might like a look at this very clean 1948 Ford F1 Pickup. It's powered by the 226 Cubic Inch Flathead Six, backed by a 3 spd manual trans. The paint looks great, the interior has been restored, and it's ready to go. I'm a big fan of this body style Ford and this really is a great example. I hope you find it interesting, thanks for taking a look!

I like that hood release too. It's sort of hidden right in plain sight.

i remember using one of those to race in the game "motor city online" waaaaay back in the day. with some tweaks it was actually kinda fun. that's a damn clean example for sure. pretty sure yours could drive right over top of it though. haha.
Nice truck mate. Hope you are well. I've been off the tubes for a while, but thought I'd log on and see whats around.

Nice to hear from you Nick. Hope you're well and still making music.
I own a 48 Ford F1- 3 speed trans with 226, The 226 had more pulling power then the V8s

Cool, that's good to know. Thanks for the info. We have a 48 Ford F1 too, but it's not even close to being stock.
My 1995 gets used and is dependable. Love for trucks.

Cool, I'll definitely go give it a listen.
What year did Ford put its trucks' 3 speeds "on the tree" like its cars'?

Late 50’.
I wonder what the price difference was from an 6 to an 8 in the flathead Ford era. I see no reason to ever have a 6er in a Ford.

I'm not sure, I was wondering the same thing. It's a great truck, but it would have been even better with a V8 under the hood.

IMO the sixes were better engines. I will take an I6 over the 8 any day.
