    Hey Kevin excellent video I will be watching it again just so it sticks in my mind a bit better. I just wanted to say when I go tractor shopping I try to remember to take a crescent wrench and snip with me and it’s saved me many times from over paying , I like to crack the oil pan bung and wait a little bit and see if any antifreeze or water comes out and same with the diff transmission and hydraulic pump see how much water comes out nobody has complained about me wanting to do that. I just thought I would pass that on seeing how you were talking about water in the gallery.

    Grinding the lift arm cam will need adjusting elsewhere, No? What about building it up prior to grinding? Do you have a good base measurement?

  • @ClaremontClassicGarage

    @ClaremontClassicGarage

    Жыл бұрын

    I don't have any measurements. Its ok to take a smidge off the cam to clean it up so long as you don't alter the profile of it. The bit you take off will be compensated for in the adjustments. Of course you can't go and take a whole whack off of it. In that case it would be best to weld it up and grind it back down. Make a template of the profile before you start to get it back as close as you can. Its an old machine that was not made to tolerances like we are accustomed to today. There is a lot of give and take built into it.

    What type of grease do you use on the top lid gaskets (and everywhere else)?

    Its just plain old chassis grease.

    I got my hydro pump all apart but its caked in a layer of hard greasy sediment. Any good recommendations on something I can soak it in thats safe on the aluminum?

    The manual I was using to adjust the lift came with the jig. Get a F04 Ford tractor manual, TSC, Amazon, ebay have them. Its a great manual.

    hey, I'm trying to rebuild my hydralic pump. got it all apart and cleaned and reassembled. did air pressure test to check for any bleed on the pump. the lever on three left side of the draft control piston thingy is leaky, can't find any info on what that means or if it means i need new housing? cleaned said part and same result

    the only real seals in the whole thing are on the piston and the gaskets where the cylinder mounts to the cover. I'm having a hard time visualizing what you are describing.

    @@ClaremontClassicGarage the flow control valve bleeds air unless it's engaged. if i move the lever so it pulls the flow control valve out, no air gets thru

    @@DavidBertaud-gj8eq I think I understand what you're describing and if so its working properly. The pump is always pumping. The control valve either directs oil flow to the cylinder or dumps it back to the sump depending on the position of the quadrant handle.
