I went to Gorringe school on Sandy Lane in the very late 50's early 60's. The smells from the bakery most days were simply:' Exquisite'! On Sandy Lane facing to the right of the school I remember a sloped pathway for the horses to access the RACS stables! I remember seeing 'air raid shelters over the RACS side wall of the school! * I think this hadn't been built yet as the allotments seem to be where I believe the Stables were built? At 3.12 that view must show the Tooting & Mitcham football ground? Yes ! At the end is the footbridge over the railway at Rialto Road and you can clearly see the 'Mizens' vegetable nurseries which became Eastfields school! Amazing! Love it!
