I used to live on Slade Way which tuned out to be a football field.
Ken Barrington the England Cricketer had a house on Fowler Road! I saw Alex Stepney many times keeping goal for Tooting!

Funnily enough, the Council that named the roads after footballers didn't actually make a fuss about it, and were only spotted by fans visiting the site of the Tooting & Mitcham ground.
