About how long an airstrip do you need for takeoff and landing on the home front with one of these? I am researching getting a light sport permit, the costs involved with purchase of a luscombe 8a, and feasibility of being trained in it.

Well that is my Dad's Luscombe (I'm not a pilot), but I can tell you that his runway is about 1,500 ft. long, and when I'm riding along it feels like we use plenty of it when taking off!
