    I wonder how challenges like these, or even the game as a whole would change if there was a “commander” type role. Somebody who’s job is to look over the battle as a whole as can give out orders to people in response to changing conditions. The game is designed to be far more casual than this, but I think the possibilities could be interesting. Commander has access to artillery strikes and maybe AI attacker plane call ins. They can also issue attack/defend orders that players can follow for small SL/RP gains. In regards to this challenge, it just seemed like there was some coordination, but also a fair bit of individual action that lead to gaps in defense that turned into overwhelming flanks against the Americans. That’s just an observation from the video however, and it may be very different on any potential discord/team speak calls going on. I kinda figured the soviets would win, it just also felt like there were points where the American defense fell apart when it could have been salvaged. Then again, mixing the teams each round does support Soviet superiority here. Interesting challenge. Looking forward to the next one.

    @keetonmitchell4669

    @@Joze1090 True, it would. I'm not saying this should become a standard feature, but that's also why I added the rp/sl reward aspect to incentivize following orders. Now there are other games that have this concept implemented in some fashion. Hell let loose, squad, probably a couple others I can't recall off the top of my head (I think battlefield did something adjacent to the idea in 4). In the end, this would likely be a separate game mode for people to do challenges like this, and/or for random matches where people know what they are getting into.

I know Russia has APHEBC or just APHEC stock and that's it, but still it's APHE not just AP, I'd have forgiven it had it at least been APCR cause then it's got something going for it. Literally went back to check and it's at 13:23 he's a Jumbo 76 and he's got stock AP, I understand limiting some rounds to a certain amount, but he had nothing but stock AP in his tank. Like yeah, how was US meant to win any of this when we got shit like this in the match?

    looking at the really late war Americans designs i personally think that they have far better tanks. mostly bias since i have like half of all my time in game on usa ground mostly looking at the T series of heavy tanks. something that i found a bit frustrating that there were no longer range maps with a need for half decent gun depression which is the environment the US tanks thrive in instead for the most part it was close range and no distinct terrain features like dunes and hills which is where the Russians dominate i feel like the Americans could have used better tactics and positioning but they looked like really good fights great vid even tho the map selection somewhat favoured the russians

    I am not sure I agree on urban and close range maps not being good for US tanks. If anything, a lot of these US tanks are very good at close range such as the jumbo and the Easy eight and the T26E5. These would dominate the soviets on close range. But everyone only went slow reload T-34's and super pershings, trying to beat the soviets at their own game. Which is big armour big gun. But the US' is super strong in the close range brawler category. Something the soviets are kind of bad at, due to their incredibly long reloads.

Haha, I will say, if you get the chance to read my comment, have an interesting challenge for you and the community of tankers you have that do these battles. Israel, American, and British Tanks against Russian Tanks that fought in the 6-day war or in the Arab-Israeli. I know Israel is a hard tech tree to follow but to see those tanks along with the American and British versions of the tanks versus their cold war adversary From the Soviet Union would be cool. Plus having the battles in the desert maps, could be something to try!

    IS-7 was a cumstain on a napkin in 1945. It was actually built in the late 40's. We have the last mod, circa1949 plus, easily told by the KPVT mounted, which did not go into service until then. IS-7 would not have been ready until the 50's anyway, lol. Soviet's did that project dirtier than hard R's. At that point you are talking at least T43 pilot and Conqueror Mk1. The T-54 would lack the fancy ammo, and the prototype would be a fat T-44. Earliest T-54 we have is the mod 1947 using, I suspect, much later ammo.

    Going to have to stop you right there. IS-3[M] model we actually have is a later development. The M is a funny time dilating letter when it comes to Soviet tanks. Just like if you did Soviet vs NATO heavies from the early Cold War, there would be no T-10M, because the T-10 didn't get its gun refit until the late 50's nor the special high pen ammos until 1967. Big difference.

    @@robertharris6092 The AA machinegun [pivoting skate mount over the commander/loader hatch], the rear barrels, basically made the thing drivable without falling apart [this especially includes redoing the welds/ hull structure that cracked off the line, mind you there is no room for a "last ditch" excuse on these (it was bad), and the really jank engine that plagued many Soviet tanks]. The top ammo also is in contention [and the WWII ammos performing right, as in they are something like 10% overperforming]. This translates to you being slower, no cold war smoke barrels, no AA roof skate, less penetration, your armor being prone to much more spall.

    I feel like the superpershing is basically the American equivalent of the IS2 Edit: I don’t think these types of competitions are even true, first of all the amount of possibilities are nearly endless. Second it also depends on the players and environment for example Any hilly terrain Most likely American tanks as they have better gun depression and handling Ex2: flat terrain: most likely soviet as their guns hit harder and usually better in that area.

    Maus would 100% win, the 4005 has a very poor reload and it can't even kill the Maus very reliably. The maus can pen the 4005 with ease pretty much anywhere, and has a much faster reload. I think 20 fv4005s vs 10 maus would be better, the only way the Fv4005s would win is if they got a really long range map and just sat defending a ridgeline.

    @@AFT_05GThe main reason why Soviet casualties were higher than American one was because unlike the Americans, who entered the war against Germany pretty late, the Soviets had to endure years of attritional fighting against many of the top units the Third Reich had to offer. The Americans entered the war when Germany had already been worn down significantly by the USSR and they subsequently had to deal with less. I actually do think some of the Soviet tanks were really good. Unlike many of the late-war German or allied heavy tanks, the IS-2 in actually did quite well. It was the same size a tiger 1, but with a larger gun, and higher top speed. It's pretty much one of the only very effective heavy tanks of the war. Additionally, in tank-on-tank combat, most people would agree that the Soviets would most likely win against the Americans when testing ww2 ground vehicles. This is mainly due to their involvement with the tank arms race that they had with Germany.

    Oh, I see. Serial tanks of the USSR in 1943-1945 against American prototypes of 1946 and older years of production. What do T95, T34, T30 do in the video? And why, in this case, is there no IS-4, IS-6, IS-7? If you already called the video 1945 USA VS 1945 USSR, then in this case the USA can only have Super Pershing.
