1944 V8 Willys MB | S1 E05 | Terminal Apex
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
The Willys MB is one of the most legendary, and most recognizable automobiles ever manufactured. Born to fight a war against evil, the Jeep went on to capture the hearts and minds of Americans, and in this case, Matt McCowan. Matt took a beast of burden and transformed it into a V8 equipped trail toy, without losing sight of its historical roots. With a custom frame by Shannon Campbell of Campbell Enterprises, the Willys was reborn for duty on the trails of the American southwest. With LS power to turn the wheels, and big tires to conquer the hardest of trails, its a head turner for sure, and one to make anyone smile (except if you were, or are, with Axis forces). When Matt is not busy racing his Ultra4 car, chances are he's driving this...and loving it.

That is amazing man! Imaging that pulling into a Jeep club meeting. Would be the star of the show
Hello from them mountains of AZ!! Great build too
NICE... WILLYS JEEP.. VERY.. STRONGLY & POWERFUL.. VEHICLES.INDUSTRY'S PRODUCT. OF THE WORLD.. THANK YOU. VERY MUCH..
Beautiful!
Super job our story’s are so similar. I did all the same things growing up. I have had my cj3a since I was 14.
What a beautiful machine
Wow, I'd much rather restore an old Willys than ever buy a new Jeep especially after seeing this new generation of tin cans. Definitely top 5 Jeeps I've seen, amazing build! 🇺🇸

Agreed seems cheaper to wheel than a new one lol

Whats wrong with the new ones? Are people just salty because they're crazy expensive and largely driven by suburban wine moms? Because the wrangler and gladiator seem to perform pretty well offroad whereas newer incarnations of range rovers are terrible.

@@GRcorolla-bt3mn I drive an old heavily modified Mahindra armada (lifted, stretched and custom dash and bucket seats). Jeeps are too expensive for me as I live in India. Not sure if I could afford one elsewhere, but it made sense to go local when the objective is offloading. 4 cylinders are super easy to maintain.

As the owner of a new tin can, I agree.
Great looking and great sounding jeep,
The off-road function of a jeep with the class & personality of an open wheeled hot rod; much respect!
I love jeep❤
An awesome build of the legendary Jeep.
Love this build ! Nothing outclasses these old Flattys. But as long as your in a Jeep !
I learned how to drive in my dads first Jeep it was a 46 CJ2A, 3 on the tree and overdrive on the floor. My current Jeep is a 72 Commando.
I had a 69 j-20 in high school. Did a bad lift and tore the front axle out in the mud. Shortly after that my friends dad gave me an old CJ-2 that had a seized engine. Took off the head and beat the cylinders loose and put it back together. The thing actually ran! Rolled it hill climbing a few months later. I've had another 14 jeeps in my life but I think the old CJ was my favorite
same here! Most people think why do you like that it's old, but they don't know or understand the feelings we get when we see the progress on our rig projects.
I can relate to this video in terms of the overall experience of the build and the involvement with your father, awesome video from one car guy to the next
Beautiful. What a great time to be alive!
I am in love with this Jeep
This has inspired me to go shop around for old willy chassis
Another quality build,. Both the film and the Willys.
Man this is a fantastic build
Really really rad Willy’s!!!! Love Jeep stories!!!
Love those old jeeps,as a kid in the 70's they had lots of matchbox military jeeps and I thought they were the coolest thing and started my love for jeeps and 4x4ing
In all honesty, nice build. Obvious hard work and dedication.... Respectfully though I will say that I wish you had used a CJ of that age range. MBs won the greatest war ever fought just the way they were.... They should be preserved!
What an epic Willys Jeep build!
Cool build, am next in line! Going fishing, gone fishin! Never comin back i enjoy the track and the sweat in my back!
I love the Jeep, to be honest the first thing I noticed was your Hensel Phelps hat. I am a union bricklayer in southern California and work with them quite a bit. Fantastic work on the old flattie 👍
That is amazing
Perfect rig! My favorite, freaking awesome MB!
Wow! Interesting project, I’m mainly focused on a 1989 k10 Chevy square Body, this could be on the list.
Very cool 😎

Great choice and the increasing value ..you will always enjoy the off road better than most SUVs. Riding today.....
Great video, love our Arizona state. Where we can still freely enjoy our custom vehicles.

Love your comment. Just wish it was true. Two of my favorite places are now wilderness areas. No vehicles allowed. I lived there from 1973 to 1984. Cotton Wood Ranch is now wilderness area. This is off highway 87 near 4 Peaks. Other is the Powers Mine. Look it up on the internet. Also now a wilderness area. The greenies are trying and are successful in trying to limit our ability to have fun. I am one that believes in tread lightly, but this sh^t has gone to far.
Beautiful project.
Love that Jeep!
Great Build. I’d build one of these in an instant!
Love it. Beautifully built
Will your films never cease to amaze me!

Great story!
I'm certainly glad this video came up in my KZread search of the word "Willys". Truth be told, I was doing the search to see how far down my KZread channel was and this video was #1.....and very well deserved. Excellent footage, content, and story telling. Maybe one day I'll come in as a close second.

Nice Ride! Sounds like about what I just run across, picked up a CJ2a about a Month ago for $400 bucks, I'd hope that it all comes together just as Yours has. Be nice to see some Build Specs, Axles, Tranfer Case, Trany, all the Drive components, I'm still in the deciding stages, not exactly sure what I want, V8, V6, still haven't decided. What You have is an Inspiration, thanks for sharing.. :)
Phenomenal build. Great storytelling. Beautiful cinematography. 👍✌️
so nice !! love ford jeep so much !!!!!!!!!!!
That’s a nice MB fun jeep

What a phenomenal video. Great interview, great production value. And most importantly, it made me want to revive my hunt for an old MB to restore with my kids. O|||||||O

Love it.
Woww! !!...Spettacolare !!!...troppo bella !!!..
Cool..hope i have one someday..
When I was in HS my dad bought a 48 & 49 Willis- $900. We took parts off the 48 to get 49 running. He sold the 49 for about $900. We hunted out of the 48 for many years. After we got it running, he took it to get painted. Told the guy whatever you have that’s cheap. We picked up a fire engine yellow keep 🤣
Very nice
I'm curious if the creator, or creators of this video took inspiration from the Dust to Glory film/ Dana Brown? Because the way the interview was conducted and the editing style reminds me of that very much. Also, that jeep is a piece of history as well as an awesome rig! Love to see people who own these and take care of them :)
wow!
Nice👌
That’s f. ING cool
I just might have to do this with my old yj
World's best jeep
Very Nice buddy hugs from Brazil
Jeep 🚙 😍👍

Very nice MB jeep and great VDO👍. I'm owner of à '69 CJ5, please, could you tell me about the kind of spring leaves you've mounted on your car? I always found mine too hard and they break my back ... Thanks in advance 👍

Any chance you can post a video or on your site pictures of how it looks under the hood? I’m really curious to see how you fit a V8 in there. Awesome jeep! I have the same one but definitely not as cool!!!
Great vid, inspired me to do my own project on my 1952 M38 . Can anyone know the gauges they used? Would really appreciate it. Thanks in advance
Ossssssmmmmm♥️♥️♥️♥️👌👌👌
Very nice MB... I'm Jealous

Cool stuff. Was this shot in Johnson Valley?

Yes
Can you give a short vehicle description, how much you stretched, axles, springs, tire size, few things like that. Please and thank you. Did you leave the v8 in the same place when you stretched the front, or did you move it forward?
What axles you got under it?
What size tires are those on that flat fender
How much wheelbase has now?
I wish someone would corner the small offroader market and expand it. We need smaller offroader like the suzuki samurai. Lighter uvs climb better and use less fuel. Some of us got student loans to pay off.
Very cool build! (The historic licence plates are fraudulent though... With a custom built frame its NOT a 1944 year vehicle, it's new (whichever year he built it) )
Jeep 💖
I'd be like a dog with two tails if I had that to run around in.
dear sir what is the front and rear axle that you are using .. and what is your transmission type .. ? thank u
What axles is this Jeep running and what’s the width?
This is everything I want with the exception of the engine. I’d rather have a diesel.
Anyone know if this Guy and Jeep are on social media?
How wide are those axles?
Simplemente épico …
What we really need to know is where you filmed this !
