1944 V8 Willys MB | S1 E05 | Terminal Apex

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

The Willys MB is one of the most legendary, and most recognizable automobiles ever manufactured. Born to fight a war against evil, the Jeep went on to capture the hearts and minds of Americans, and in this case, Matt McCowan. Matt took a beast of burden and transformed it into a V8 equipped trail toy, without losing sight of its historical roots. With a custom frame by Shannon Campbell of Campbell Enterprises, the Willys was reborn for duty on the trails of the American southwest. With LS power to turn the wheels, and big tires to conquer the hardest of trails, its a head turner for sure, and one to make anyone smile (except if you were, or are, with Axis forces). When Matt is not busy racing his Ultra4 car, chances are he's driving this...and loving it.

Wow, I'd much rather restore an old Willys than ever buy a new Jeep especially after seeing this new generation of tin cans. Definitely top 5 Jeeps I've seen, amazing build! 🇺🇸

Whats wrong with the new ones? Are people just salty because they're crazy expensive and largely driven by suburban wine moms? Because the wrangler and gladiator seem to perform pretty well offroad whereas newer incarnations of range rovers are terrible.

@@GRcorolla-bt3mn I drive an old heavily modified Mahindra armada (lifted, stretched and custom dash and bucket seats). Jeeps are too expensive for me as I live in India. Not sure if I could afford one elsewhere, but it made sense to go local when the objective is offloading. 4 cylinders are super easy to maintain.

I had a 69 j-20 in high school. Did a bad lift and tore the front axle out in the mud. Shortly after that my friends dad gave me an old CJ-2 that had a seized engine. Took off the head and beat the cylinders loose and put it back together. The thing actually ran! Rolled it hill climbing a few months later. I've had another 14 jeeps in my life but I think the old CJ was my favorite

Love your comment. Just wish it was true. Two of my favorite places are now wilderness areas. No vehicles allowed. I lived there from 1973 to 1984. Cotton Wood Ranch is now wilderness area. This is off highway 87 near 4 Peaks. Other is the Powers Mine. Look it up on the internet. Also now a wilderness area. The greenies are trying and are successful in trying to limit our ability to have fun. I am one that believes in tread lightly, but this sh^t has gone to far.

When I was in HS my dad bought a 48 & 49 Willis- $900. We took parts off the 48 to get 49 running. He sold the 49 for about $900. We hunted out of the 48 for many years. After we got it running, he took it to get painted. Told the guy whatever you have that’s cheap. We picked up a fire engine yellow keep 🤣
