Got lucky with the clean door, the lower rust is an easy fix

Just some cutting and welding, picked up some 16gauge steel just for it.

I was recently examining a '55 Series 2 body and was amazed at how thick the metal on the doors were. Curious, did you have any stripped screw holes on the inner panel ? I need to open mine up and get inside, I'm sure mine could use some grease also...LOL EDIT: that tar is a mess. I understand why they did it, probably for sound deadening, I plan to use newer/lighter material. Firewall will get the same...these trucks are noisy.

Door panel screws came off no problem. Everything else was a problem

@@ELDESTBuilds I know one or two of mine are stripped, and the doors are rattly in general as the gauge is thin. I"m anxious to see how your suicide doors turn out. Also, what you do with the hood, I've seen some weld the top together and lift it to open, getting rod of the side hoods. That hood is pretty noisy also. All in all, these are the features I wanted, you don't see the push out windows, side hood covers, etc...

The hood on this one seems to be in pretty good shape. Probably gonna leave the side open, just tune it up a bit. Doors are coming along better than expected. Jump over to the community tab for pictures.

@@ELDESTBuilds I also plan to leave mine side open, but I was working on it a few weeks ago and I didn't have the passenger side secured, and BLAM! Hit me in the head and blood was running down the side of my face...that f#$ing hurt...I haven't worked on it since without using a bungee or strap.

There are prop rods. I'll be getting a couple.
