1940s Safe Driving Tips and How to Handle Your Car

During the 1940s, various organizations, government agencies, and even private companies produced driver safety videos and films. The 1941 Plymouth educational film "Uncle Jim Tells 'Em" was written by John J. O'Hara and produced by Jam Handy. It was one of the more popular driver safety films of its time, with tips and guidelines for safe driving and proper car handling. The Jam Handy Organization was known for producing numerous educational and promotional films during that era the 1940s, and John J. O'Hara was a prolific writer and director of those films.
The film was shown in driving schools, in theaters and at community events.
