This was fantastic, 27 years restoring in the antiques business, and I cannot recall ever having done a medical piece like this, and what a beautiful job you did..

Thank you. That is why I decided to try something unusual like this.
Each item in your hands has its own story. It's not just a wonderful restoration journey, but rather a documentary in itself. Excellent work, well done!!

I particularly liked this video. My husband retired as covid interrupted our world. He is a family practice physician and practiced more than 60 years! He had an exam table very similar to the one you are refinishing and other matching pieces to this. They were in very good condition, I can't remember what happened to them, but he used for years! Thank you.

Perhaps you already answered this, but what are your plans for this piece, Barry? Will you sell it? It’s a beautiful piece of furniture but will take just the right buyer.
I have two of those tables in my medical office and use them daily. I love these tables. So nice to see another one.

I enjoyed this so much. I'm 63 and this table reminds me of old Dr. Creiten who brought me my sister and mother into the world in small town Canada. Thanks for the memories.

Simply amazing! Too bad the original craftspeople can't see how you have lovingly given this piece of our history a new life. Hopefully, one of them watches your channel. How amazing would that be if they did and reached out to you. As always, your finished piece is absolutely beautiful!

What a beautiful piece! Love the Art Deco design. Since it was manufactured in 1945, the Art Deco period was ending and the Mid Century Modern period was just about to begin. Love the history. Thank you.

I love that you restore these old time worn pieces. This especially touched me because I worked as a practice manager for an OB/GYN for several years. Our equipment wasn’t this old but I still appreciate the time you spent bringing the beauty back to this piece that probably served a doctor very well. Your work is spectacular, Barry. You’ve done a great restoration on a truly wonderful piece that is fascinating in several fronts. Beautiful example of art-deco, intriguing medical history, great engineering, war stories…. This piece has SO much going for it and you honoured its historic interest with balance of clean, restore, renovate. I’m sure it will still look good in most domestic situations or even a museum, equally.

INCREDIBLE!! You have boundless patience. There seemed to be at least a hundred parts to that table. There were so many metal pieces that needed rust and corrosion removal. Just wow is all I can say, oh I forgot to say the mahogany is beautiful in the color you chose.

We so often think of household pieces when thinking of MCM items and never consider professional furniture used during the era. The craftsmanship and construction of this piece has so much depth of beauty and functionality than the current medical and dental exam beds in use. The original designer, manufacturer, and owner must all have felt a strong sense of pride in the appearance and ownership of this beautiful piece.

You are an historian as well as a restorer and you’re just fabulous at both jobs! It’s amazing the ingenuity of the designers of these pieces with the heavy and complicated fixtures they used back then, but they had so much more CLASS than today’s dinky models for the same purpose! Thank you for showing them to us as they would have looked when new. Very impressive, both to look at and that you manage to drag it back into usability! Just love watching you work your magic! Keep it up.❤️🦘🇦🇺😊

Thank you for this vlog! Amazing restoration! Two Rivers (or "Twerves") is where my Mom Julie was born and raised. Her father, Sylvester Schmitt was the eldest of 17 children. He was an Architect and according to Mom, helped the government with designing nuclear subs starting in WWII.
Beautiful job as always, Barry! I could see someone using this as a baby changing table, with lots of storage for all the baby gear.

The medical office you showed us was quite lovely. There aren’t many buildings from that era here in the States. My dad worked for many years in an office building built in the mid-40’s. They were able to get building materials for an office only because they put manufacturing in the basement and had been building stuff for the war effort. My first job was working in that basement and the hallways were still the original finished cement in the basement
I'm so thankful for every piece you restore and the story that goes with it. You do wonderful work.
