Well yes, for sure the carb was a little out, but the biggest issue at the time of the video was it was only running one cylinder .
Nice Scout. Agreed need to adjust you carb. If you have a right hand shift you should have a left hand throttle. Make taking off so much easer. That set up must be hell on a hill. ride on ..640 4 ever...

That's a good question. Jerry Greer in S.Dacota would know.
Need to tune your carb right brother or rebuild it... Check your jets.... That's what all the sputtering means

No jets on a Linkert carb just a spray nozzle.

lol so much dumb in 1 comment, that back fire is because he just dumped a ton of gas into the chamber to start it. these do not have "jets"

Good quess, it was only running on the front jug there but we eventually got it running great. This one sold for a record 55k.
