" I like to call it a Rat Rod, that way nobody's expectin' nothin' great." 👌
Just protect those lungs when you work that fiberglass 🙂This will be a solid build, I'm sure!
After watching kindig win with a gaudy undrivable rich mans watch, I appreciate this guy a thousand times more.

I guess to each his own ,but kindig is an award winning self-taught car builder . Just as Bob is self-taught and he builds some damn cool cars, I enjoy what he builds as much as I do kindig's. I look forward to watching Bob work through the challenges that lay ahead with project rats' nest. 🐀 . You'll get it you just ain't got it yet.

Every man who builds cars has his place. I admire Bob for his simple style that lets a lot of us fit in an affordable spot. Don't knock the Kindigs, Foose, Ian and others who spend the time to make beautiful cars and trucks. I have customized many cars always striving to make the next one better than the first.

@@maxyearwood1085 my brother actually drove out to california to see my sister and stopped by chip Fooses shop - he was just a gear head and friendly as could be - not snobby or stuck up.
Dear Bob, just know, you are our hero, metal o plastic, you are our hero Bob!!
You'll figger it out Bob! We know it. We just do!!
I like a man who doesn't rest om his laurels and a man who works with both fiberglass and steel! Should be a goodie Bob!
Relief cuts, then get your shape. Fiberglass the back. Grind the face side, then step up your glass. Then you can use tiger hair, then mud good luck, Bob.
School is in session! With one of the best teachers out there! You go Bob!
Hello Bob I live in the Great State of Maine. I'm a third generation of boat builders. I have built fiberglass boats all of my life to lobster fish in. To answer your question about heating fiberglass ( No) it will not bend at all you will just set it on fire Your best wat is to make relift cuts in the glass and then reglass the cuts .
Dang, I'm proud of you starting another one right after you got done With the coup.👍
Thank you for not playing music all through the video.
WE SEE YOU GOT TROPHY ON THE DOG! NICE. YES SIR ON THE BUILD. NEW LEARNING CURVE ON FIBERGLASS.
Metal or plastic just work your magic that is what I love to see
Heck yeah another Rat Rod Bob Builds!!!!
I haven’t watched it yet but I don’t need to to know it’s gonna be a good one. Back to back builds and a longer video … don’t get any better😀
My goodness Bob. You build more cars in a year than most car guys can build in a lifetime.
I Predict Some "Sticky Fingers" In Your Future Bob!!! Keep Rocking It Out Brother!!!
Perfect project for a rat rod Bob. If anyone can make a fiberglass car in to a rat rod. You can. Love your work
I like the idea of gasser type spokes on the front. You could spindle mount them and re-arch the front spring to get a nose high gasser stance. There are two types of fiberglass resin. Use the epoxy type as it is stronger. To help hold the shape of the tops of the doors you could bend up a steel tube to be the middle of the structure. Glue this to the bottoms of the doors and cut and paste the top pieces. Then fill in the gaps with resin and glass fibers. It's going to be messy and itchy so wear gloves and apply baby powder. This should be interesting. Set the engine back and build a cover out of aluminum sheet. The suicide doors of the '34 open the correct way for access. A 6 point roll bar for safety with you sitting near the rear axle complete the street gasser look. Interior should be aluminum sheet as your last car worked out well and this one will too. Lots of episodes to come. I'm along for the ride.
There is so much to know about fiberglass. Wish I was there to give you some tips, maybe we could chat some time. One of the first things is to make some sort of steel frame to mount your parts to. From there it is fairly straight forwards. Looking forward to the project.
What I like about Bob is he does the work instead of talking about it, I know people that have projects that they started years ago and never worked on them but every time they get two beers in them, they go on and on how they are going to build their rods.
Thanks for the video Bob and red! I've had a bad day and this video sure does make it seem like a day off with pay!
WoOoOo HoOoOoOo ol Rat Rod BoOoOoOoB is back in the shop where dreams come true boys and girls !!! just frigin MINT !!!
My grandpa had a 34 coupe back when he ruined shine in the 40s. He said it was his favorite car.
This is what I have been waiting for
Love all the builds Bob and enjoy them all ! Ill say u the man ! But no stitches? Gonna get interesting! Tell Red to get to work !!
Two positives working with fibreglass is no rust repairs and it also wont sink !!
Stay with this cool project until it’s finished. It’s great to watch a master finish a project from nothing but a few parts and then in the end drive off in it. 👍🏻 😎
Heat will only shrink the resin and not the fiberglass. It might move 1/16 of an inch. You will need to relieve cut and refiberglass Bob. Get some Duraglss and Kitty hair, a full face respirator and tyveck coveralls and a box or latex gloves. I could fiberglass boats. That going to be a sweet one Bob. Can't wait to see it done. If you need any advice feel free to reach out about fiberglass. My dad was a cistom car builder and worked with George Barris and helped buld/ Paint the Munsters Mobile and the Pink panther Cars and a few others. So I learned at an early age from one of the best in the biz.
This is gonna be super cool, possibly itchy, but super cool! 😎
👍. Well, the hardest part is done... deciding what next and getting started.
I look forward to each episode on the 3 window Ratrod I,ve since finished my 1954 AR110 International sidestep pickup custom thanks for the tips an tricks I did 95% myself in the driveway I do have a workshop but that where I restore Antique and Vintage furniture Bill Queensland Australia 🇦🇺
Excited for this one Bob👍 Varmints know to stay just out of view. The firewall is such a classic spot to theme or contrast, maybe better to have it start out clean and smooth. Surprised nobody at you to get a show going yet. See you next time !
I have some experience in fiberglass, but far from a pro.. but I did deal with body fitment issues on a 73 corvette once. The car had had front and rear collision damage and the guy that did the initial repair slapped it together half ass using parts from about or 4 different years. A friend that had bought the car for a song begged me to have a Crack at it. I found if I made radius cuts in the fiberglass and found ways to clamp/brace it in place then reglassed the cuts, it would stay in place. I used mat and cloth with resin on the back of the panel and chopped mat mixed into duraglass for the outside exposed cuts. This is one of those things where you step back, look at it, then feel it, and use your best judgment.
You go Bob can't Wait to see it done

Interesting! Fibreglass, you can do it Bawb!
Love you Bob, thank you for your videos.!!!!!!
You have a beautiful looking coupe too!!
Build it Mr Bob, will all watch every episode
Yes sir. My favorite. 34 coupe . That is a big motor for that little car. But it surely going to look fantastic in that car.
Cool. When you're waiting for parts for one work on the other. Good for more content on the channel
heat the fiberglass with a heat gun and move it where you want and leave it there as it cools it will stay. that is what worked for me on my father in-laws 34 ford sedan
Looks like a giant model kit 😂
Cheers brother, fiberglass don't look like it's as much fun as bangin' on metal. '34 always was my favorite coupe body. It's gonna' be GREAT ! 👍🏁

I hear ya! I can see lots of design chair time in the future.
Yep. Looking good. . Cut )
Those new wheels look cool
Best way to cut fiberglass is a 4in grinder with a d diamond blade for cutting granite countertops . You can buy them at Lowe’s. The cut through it like melted butter
j adore toutes vos vidéos
Most fiberglass cars have steel hood and hood sides. Being a glass body of unknown manufacturer gonna be a tad tricky to find them. I built a 34 Tudor back in the early 90s. Good luck on this build.
Hope you can make the Nova road worthy, 😂looks like it will be a great build, thanks for sharing, all the best to you and your loved ones
Hey doesn’t matter which project you did first , I’m just happy there’s two more lined up, I’m sure you already figured out the front fiberglass piece’s I would think a heat gun would soften it up enough to bend it into place, dirty little Rats, awesome looking car , catch you on the next one 😀😀
Man this is going to be a really Great Build!

It should be fun to watch if nothing else. Thanks for supporting the effort.
good show Bob.😎👍
Rootlieb hood would be a good place to get a nice hood with louvers, that’s where I got mine from my 34 and it’s a Gibbons body and has a steel tank, steel hood and those lower panels are called inner fender panels are steel as well. I’m excited to see your progress.❤
Looking forward to this build
First thing's first buy a good respirator designed for fiberglass . I know you can do it let the fun begin.
Great video. Iron Trap Garage has several grill shells. 1933 and 1934.
Gonna be another great build!!!!! Ur visions are awesome👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
yeahhhh man , gonna be sic....Rock onnn Bob
You definitely appreciate steel when you get done with this build
Ole ratrod engine is rat aproved !!
Class is in session! Sit down, shaddup an' pay attention! : )
Imma keep watching, so there’s that.
Hi ain’t going to miss it good to see you Bob 👍👍😎
You will need bond coat resin, fiberglass matt. Maybe some tigerhair bondo, i had some glass fiber posterboard to cut out and glass over for making shapes. I did a glass frontend on a car at one time. Also some fiberglass fender flares.
Man ,can't wait for the 6-71.blown big block Nova, & the 34 coupe
This is going to be epic 👍
We're all ready for this build Bob is Don going to help you on this every now and then he's a good dude
GREAT VIDEO BOB. FIBERGLASS WILL BE A WALK IN THE PARK FOR YOU. IT'S REALLY A FUN ADVENTURE AFTER DOING METAL FAB. HAVE FUN, MAYBE "RED" WILL WANNA HELP!!
Hi Bob,,just fantastic, can,t think of any other way of seeing you back to the dream shop with the coupe,I know we will see the magic happen and the rod will scream ; HERE I AM ; let the class sit and learn, take bud till the next time
Heck...the doors look good without the tops....make a channel for the glass to run up to...but the opening looks right...
Looking forward to this ride Bob 👍
Hey Bob glad to see you pulling in the 34or33 whichever it is gonna be a cool car and very rare and wanted no doubt you will figure out how to work with fiberglass hard parts to find but you have a better chance than me here in PEI Canada lol I will definitely be watching and good luck, take care Mike!!!!
Going to be awesome man!
That's quite the endeavor Bob!!! Going to be a sweet ride when it's done!!! That 429 is going to be a torque monster!!! Preciate ya Bob!!!
Awesome good to see this on the road 👍🏽 hope you get help with the fiberglass or you can work it out 👍🏽
G'day Bob, I hear tell Red got some fibreglass skills, let's see him getting to lending a hand in this one... Precise ya.. Respect....!
Itchy scratchy show fantastic plastic! Don't breathe to much of that stuff.😎😎
Ol' Bawb will be trying to figure out how to put stitch welds into fiberglass! Lol!! If anyone can, it would be Bawb!
Its gonna test your patience Bob and be prepared for the mess fiberglass makes....... definitely make it a RatRod.
Starting a new build and fiberglass too . This will be great Bob . Let the learning begin .
Right on Bawb, glass, metal, whatever, I know you'll figure it out, no problem! Be watching Hoss 👍👍✊🤟🤙🤘✌️
Building anything out of anything is cool...give'er Bawb 👍
3M auto mix stuff is gonna be your friend. It kinda like 2 part epoxy gun and they have glue and lots of sandable stuff
Bob what ever you build it takes your know how to build it and it will great and i will watch you all the way because you are the man we love your videos thank you for your time i don't watch tv i watch Rat Rod Bob a little shop where Dreams come true.

Ha haa ... yup!
Yes you can heat it to move it around. Just watch for delam. It helps if you can hold it in position while you heat it. Like a block of wood to spread it out. Wish i was closer to you. I love working with glass cars

@RatRodBobBuilds no problem! Epoxy doesn't add any extra strength. Pink foam and packing tape make great molds. You can get fiberglass and resin at your local hardware store for doing boat repairs. Mat fiberglass adds a lot of thickness but you should go over mat with cloth for a nice finish. Chip brushes are great for epoxy and they are cheap. Dab the resin on. Don't brush.
You have great ideas
Metal work I know some ...fiberglass not at all. Teach me Bob.

I'm looking forward to this build Bob. Nice motor and spares you've got there. I know you're going to build it right, you never disappoint .
Great to see you at it so soon after completing the 30. It is going to be a sweet cruiser. Looking forward to the build.
Careful where ya scratch Bob, that stuff is itchy. LOL
She'll be a sweet ride when you're done. Thanks for sharing with us.
As always, you are a great inspiration. Like these other fellas said, be safe with that fiberglass ! We are all gettin' ready to learn somethin' !
Great stuff Bawbb
Rat Rod Bob, you da man! I wish you had done this five years ago, it would have helped me a bunch when I built a 32 3 window out of fiberglass. Get ready to itch!
34 has always been one of my favorites
