It's an understatement to say you restore these pieces. It's so clear you have a deep affection for these items you lovingly bring back to life. Really great to watch (and learn)

I can't even begin telling you how much you channel is giving me these calm and peaceful vides. I know nothing about repairing things, but they way you handle them so pedantically and confidently just makes me binge-watch your videos over the weekends to restore my inner peace! Thank you for making this!
Very clever on the spray over for the propeller pattern I would never thought of that that's very clever and makes it much easier than tracing. Great job.

The way the host shows the lead test at the start of each video really shows that they care about the well being of anyone who should see one of their videos and want to try restoring old stuff for themselves.

My grandfather would go nuts seeing these old vintage toys being brought back to life! You have a talent keep up the good work
Spray painting those props was ingenious... I never would have thought of that... mind blown...
I didn't think a little toy could look 'proud' but the restored clips really do. What a lovely thing, well done.

Toys had so much care put into them back then, there was no glue, cheap shortcuts, and just flat out laziness. It's wonderful to see you can bring back the character and improve it instead of completely erase the character.
This guy isn't afraid to restore anything regardless of age. I bet if he was given a million year old toy, he'd restore it as if he went back in time and removed it from the factory line. Amazing. Just amazing. I can watch theses videos for hours. I'm not just amazed by his restoration skills but the knowledge of each piece to take everything apart and put it back together again. If I take the lid off the peanut butter jar, I would Google how to put it back.
Am I the only one watching these amazing videos who now wants to sand blast things?🤷🏼♀️

So my dad is going to buy them for me for Christmas! Lol, hope my hubby likes the stove being pink, the fridge being robins egg blue, and the toaster being lilac!

Man! How many kids, (may be your grandparents now) made these toys their happines and delight? Thanks for the labor of love involved!
watching you sandblasting and repainting those parts comfort me amazingly before I sleep these days. so good, thanks
Love these videoes without annoying music....:) Your work is amazing!
Just think. This was once some mans/woman’s, steel work, whether or not they’re still alive, they’d be proud to see it restored to its former glory.
Pure ASMR all day long. No music, no commentary, just the sounds of tools.
You can tell this is a pre WWII toy by the thickness of the metal, during and post WWII most toys like this were made from tin, some, literally salvaged/recycled from tin cans. It's fascinating how toys can tell a story about the time and the people that made them. This toy for example would have served a similar role to space ships/rockets in the 50s/60s with air travel only recently having been made available to the public (well, the wealthy anyway). A symbol of the future. Love the channel, very relaxing to watch.
OMG... it’s beautiful! The sandblasting always makes me very happy! And I love the chrome finish on the wings and tail. Outstanding as usual!!!
Love it when things of the past get a breath of life again. You did good friend! Thank you for sharing with us.
Was a toy. Now it’s a work of art. Nice job.

My dad used to restore old cars, his favorite part was building the pieces that were no longer there to restore. Next to the sandblasting that's my favorite part of your videos
Love to see the last production and the way he made it, very carefully and patient
the most satisfying part for me is when you disassemble everything and then put it all together in the end
Im so glad that you are using the lead tester now. I was so worried for all that sandblasting. Good job Sir!
The plane was crying for joy when you brought it back to its former glory.
sandblasting seems like a very relaxing job
For the love of everything holy, DO NOT TRIM AWAY THE SANDBLASTING PROCESS! I love watching rust go away. Please upload the whole thing! Great restoration too and thanks for it, have a great day!
Came here for the sandblasting. Lol. Kidding i loved watching the whole process.
Amazing work! I bet that toy meant the world to the child it belonged to. It would be epic if the airplane was reunited with the original owner!
I’d love to spend a day in this chap’s workshop just watching him work. It’s very therapeutic, watching these old pieces come together all shiny and new-looking again.
The sound when the parts get fit is absolute bliss to hear
One of the best restoration channels on KZread. Miracle worker.
I freaking love that candy apple red paint you use on a lot of your projects.
A simple toy, but now, thanks to you, a thing of beauty. Nice one.
I don't collect toys or such, but I enjoy watching you transform old rusted buckets to new ones, great job !
How therapeutic is that sandblasting! Great job..
Never had any interest in or even thought about this kind of activity but I find the videos are absolutely spellbinding!

I'm so happy I found this channel. These vids are so satisfying and relaxing to watch. You do things so slowly and meticulously it's hypnotic!
The silver/chrome color is beautiful! Looks great 😇
Old world toys are pure imagination. Great resto.
Great restoration done here. My only thought was...... I believe the wheels were round and not flat on that plane if this old mans memory still serves him well. Thanks for sharing and keep em coming.

I love watching the powder paint process.

@libra8a R&R took a piece of garbage - literal rusty trash - and conserved it. If the choice is between letting something rot away because of it's "collector value" and restoring it so it actually exists for another ~90 years, I'll take the latter. Besides, the collectors' market is mostly BS, a bunch of self-delusional idiots who trade items of no significant rarity nor historical significance between themselves, all the while hoping that Beanie Babies or 1990s Star Wars figures will suddenly jump in value again and they can offload their collections to some new sucker.
@petrberanek4230

Collectors only, nobody else. Common folks are unable to buy anything like this plane, if collectors wants to buy it as collectors bid ridiculous amount of money.
@AtomicReverend
5 жыл бұрын
@libra8a as a mild collector of diecast toys (I prefer 1950s and 60s trucks) I can say with certainty that your statement is not totally true, an improper restoration will lower the value but something like this rusty "paper weight" of an airplane, the restoration definitely added value. Personally on the few toys I have bought that were restored I prefer original as possible but this would look great collecting dust on a table at a aeronautical nuts desk. That doesn't want a plane graveyard but a functioning model and this thing really is a stunning toy now. Think of it in the same concept as a real car, as an example a stock model A Ford will pull 15ish grand but a street rod can easily fetch 50k because of three main reasons, one is it is useable in today's world, two is it was built with Craftsmanship and three it really isn't all that rare being mass produced to begin with. Now a car (or toy) such as a '53 'vette (or other rare thing like a Ferrari for example or a Smith-Miller toy truck) a perfect restoration will always be worth more money and a really nice original car will always be worth the most because they were rare when they were new and they usually got abused so very few examples exist today.

Collectors are infuriating. I 've smoked pipes for decades, and it's becoming increasingly harder to buy old pipes because "collectors" are bidding up the prices. I buy them to restore and smoke; they buy them to stick on a shelf and wait for prices to go up.

That chrome finish powder coat is wicked.
I literally was holding my breath each time you twisted one of the metal tabs to take the airplane apart...they always broke on me when I was a kid. Always a pleasure to watch your restorations. I assume you went with the red/silver configuration rather than the red/yellow, to keep it from being presented as mint original condition, should anyone later get it and try to misrepresent it.
these videos are soo satisfying to watch, love it
