The fact is that it was and it is the case that only 5% of Top castes of India were ruling the roost, enjoying all the benefits, holding much of the economy, while common Indians were treated as low life Dalits and lower castes. British helped to unify India and also brought in administration. Most of the North Indian desert was turned into lush farms by the British - they develop the Canal system roads etc.. If not British then Muslim, Sikhs, Hindu, and others would have fighting among themselves and kings would have sucked your blood.

Always remember that we humans need a higher force to rule, it is applicable today too. If I give you a example, Maharaja Ganga Singh of Bikaner (which is smoking in the video) opened their treasuries to build banaras hindu university, built canals and schools in their kingdom. If the rule is that much cruel, then people wouldn't support the maharaja to rule. Don't blindly follow the communist propaganda and NCERT. Do some self research.
