One of my favorite
So beautiful! In the movie "Sunset Boulevard" a band hired by the main character of the movie plays this song (scene with Gloria Swanson, Billy Holden and Erich von Stroihem)
First version I ever heard of this song was by The Bathelors in the 196's!
Putting my favourite songs in playlists and looking for release dates to organise them, I am finding so many songs were originally released so long before the versions that made them popular in the 1950s and 1960s - like Diane, House of the Rising Sun, and many others.
I used to dance that with young lovely girls in the 1950's and that was one of the standard songs of the day.

My pleasure!
Super excellent
This is one of my favorite songs. Nat-Nathaniel Shilkret had an awesome Orchestra. Thanks Prof!
Thank You. That’s lovely. A very nice early rendition, too.
この時代の曲が一番癒される😌
I have this on a Canadian ( His Masters Voice ) VICTOR 78 ! Thanks for the upload.
Superb rendition -- I love the Shilkret band. It's always disappointed me that my cousin Diane, who was named for this song -- and whom I strongly dislike, has essentially spoiled a beautiful tune for me.

@@beiderbecke1927 You know, Cousin Diane even intrudes upon my enjoyment of that scene! ... Which, if you don't mind, Grand Rapids?

@@beiderbecke1927 Not dreary at all -- fascinating, in fact! Best of luck in your new environment. Not at all surprised to hear that you're an artist, going by your stated interests and way with words.

Aww,so sorry that this tune has been spoiled for you; it's so lovely. I guess I'm lucky in that my appreciation for all tunes is unscathed.

@@Trombonology She couldn't be any worse than my sister-in-law! Hmmm...do we know of any songs with the title,"Judy"? All I can think of is "Judaline", from Jane Powell's '48 vehicle, "A Date With Judy". Happily, the thought of my wife's odious sister hasn't spoiled my fondness for the song or the film.
