Hey Guys! Welcome, and in today’s video, we will share the best 19 things to do in Valencia Spain in one day or 24 hours.
With so many things to see and do, you might not be able to see everything in Valencia in just one day. When you start planning a trip to Valencia, you'll quickly find that it's a big city with a lot to see and do. It's also one of the best places to visit in Spain.
Valencia is a port city on Spain's southeast coast, where the Turia River flows into the Mediterranean Sea. The city is full of life and has beaches, good food, lots of culture, and shopping. It's no surprise that it's a popular place for vacationers, whether they come for the city or the beaches.
During your first 24 hours in Valencia, you should spend some time in the old city center. There, you'll find the kind of old buildings, stone streets, and public squares you'd expect to see in a typical European city. But it is also a little bit modern.
It might seem impossible to spend only one day in Valencia and see all the major sights, but with a little planning and this detailed Valencia itinerary, you will soon see that it is easy to do.
Start making plans for your trip with a 1-day itinerary for Valencia. We stayed in Valencia for 24 hours, and there are a lot of things to do and see there. So here are some ideas about where to start.

    Useful tips and insights 👍 Sorolla is a valencian painter whereas Goya is aragonese. The highlight for me is Las Fallas museum if you are into arts, or if you are a foodie, eating a paella in any restaurant close to La Albufera.

    As always, you did a great job of focusing on some great Valencia city destinations - with your dry humor tossed in which is always smile-inducing! To augment your already great list, a 24-hour visitor could also consider the following - but perhaps as replacement places instead of adding on to what is already an ambitious list that no doubt will involve 20,000+ steps if hoofed on foot. I think you may have covered what I’ll suggest first in one of your other videos? My wife and I love San Nicolas church (iglesia) in the El Carmen area (3~4 minutes from Plaza de la Virgen). This church is often nicknamed “Valencia’s Sistine Chapel” due to its incredible fresco paintings and Baroque decorations. But then, if you’re only here 24 hours, it’s a toss-up whether to go here or to the main Cathedral if you’re a Holy Grail fan - about the same entrance fee amount. Audio guide included. Right across from the House of Cats (13:20 on the video; Google it on a map; it’s easy to miss!) on Calle Museo, the Centro del Carmen Cultural Comtemporanea aka “CCCC”) is arguably far more interesting than IVAM and the setting is beautiful - a 13th-century former convent with two beautiful inner courtyards. They have revolving exhibits - some of the most interesting we’ve enjoyed seeing during our 8 years here. As for paella…. we are not as much into seafood / marisco as you are (sorry), so we always order the traditional Valencia paella. An important side note: we request it without snails (say “sin caracoles”), as having that will tend to take away the saffron flavor that we so like about paellas. It’s also possible to ask for paella with chicken and veggies if you feel squeamish about eating bunny rabbit. ;-). Lastly, the 270-degree view of the City of Arts and Sciences from Barcelo’s rooftop terrace is indeed fantastic (17:05 on video) , but be ready to pay the 10 euro cover charge that will include one drink.

    Ah, a question - where did you get those screenshots of the crime data for Valencia? Very interesting, and I'd be curious how other cities in Spain and elsewhere around the world fare with those same stats categories.

    Hola🇪🇸 Gracias for your videos! Ive been subscribed to Boffo channel for awhile now ever since my husband made plans for us (2 adults + 2 kids,12&9 years old) to visit Valencia for 4 weeks. This list is great for our first few days getting our bearings. We are buying the kids used bikes to explire city, pretty inexpensive. We will use Valenbici for adults making sure we get Playa de Arenas everyday for the kiddos. We are staying in El Cabanyal, went to flea market today@ We are from CA too!

    Hello, thank you for all your great videos. Can you recommend some places with acoustic guitars and live Spanish music (like in the manner of Gipsy Kings - not clubbing or Flamenco)? I've been in Barcelona on multiple such places, so I'd like a lot to visit something similar in Valencia as well. Thank you for all great advices!!!

    @@EverythingIsBoffo great! I am coming with friends on summer and we would all love to visit cafes/restaurants with live Spanish music. Also what would be the site for renting apartment in Valencia for multiple months? I am thibking of working remotely from there so it would be great if something cheaper than booking/airbnb exists... Thx, all the best!

    Are the locals in Valencia friendly towards foreigners? I have had bad experiences in Mallorca where there is a very high level of xenophobia and resentment of foreigners. A friend and I are visting Valencia tomorrow for the first time. What would you say would be your top 5 not to miss spots (whether a museum, site, cafe, restaurant, shop...)

  • @EverythingIsBoffo

    @EverythingIsBoffo

    Yes locals are friendly, of course nobody appreciates someone who’s drunk and belligerent, so as long as you’re not bothering anyone you should be fine. If you’re renting a bike be mindful of where you can bike, sidewalks are for walking. Follow the bike lanes. Start with some Spanish words at every interaction, even just an Hola or Buenas goes a long way. I think you should see Mercat Central, La Lonja de la Seda, Almoina, Cuitat de les ciences y artes, Torre Se Serranos, and if you’re into churches San Nicolas and the Cathedral. Enjoy!

    Spain needs to improve its health and safety massively. It is very behind and backward in that respect. No rails, guardrails, barriers and dangerous steps etc at tourist sites in Spain is common and is very dangerous.
