18th Century Silver Salver | Antiques Roadshow

All valuations were correct at the time of broadcast. This charming Irish silver salver is missing it's date mark but luckily our expert can still successfully date it to the mid-18th century. Hugh Scully and the experts from Antiques Roadshow take a look at some fantastic antiques and the history and stories surrounding them. This clip was filmed in Bristol in 1998.

Thats a seriously sick silver salver. Stupendous for sitting scrumptious snacks upon, such as salami sandwiches and sunflower seeds.

£ 30 In 1944 could have bought a House ? His £30 would have been worth £150, 000 today. Sounds like the family story has benn a bit embellished over the years .

@@HeardFromMeFirst Then I'm not following your original comment. It seemed to me you were saying that £30 would have bought a house in 1944 and that £30 would be worth £150,000 in today's money.

Why can't the show be like that now? Oh no I'm sorry we are all woke now, aren't we? Well no we are not. We DO NOT want to see on Antiques Roadshow Beatle Memorabilia or Tickets for the World Cup Final, 1966. It's all a load of crap that needs to be consigned to the attic.
