I do hope that Mrs. Washington said that about avoiding “scrambled eggs,” because it would certainly make me feel good to know that even she understood my plight when making custard for the first time! 😂😂😂

How wonderful can’t wait!
I've only seen a few of these videos of the two of them. I have to say that the gentleman is spontaneous and sincere with his physical shows of affection toward the lady. It's a nice thing to see.
Yay can't wait 😊 🎄🕯🎄❤💙
There's something weirdly hypnotic about this channel. LOL.

Eggnog was big when I was a kid. A little nutmeg on top. Yum! Essence of Christmas and Thanksgiving. Spice cake is good with it.
Whisk the white to soft peaks and fold into the nog. It will make it even nicer
Looking forward to this Christmas Eve video!
👍🏼 yup, I’m hooked….want more. Please 🙏🏼

Great episode..there is a 300 year old recipe where the whites are whipped and added back at the end..rich. I think heavy cream is used instead of milk
Ron, your beanie hat and entire ensemble look fantastico👍. So... this looks like it's gonna be another great video, so I'm going to the store. Then coming back , drink some 1800's cocoa and will enjoy watching y'all.
What a thrill for Ron to meet the general and get that good receipt for eggnog from Mrs. Washington. 😊
Thank you for another wonderful video
Great stories, wonderful recipes! Merry Christmas!

I heard that too! I couldn't imagine such positivity in a relationship 🙂 She's sweeter than a ten pound bag of sugar 😅
I want to wish Mr and Mrs. Boone a Merry Christmas and to let them know I enjoy watching their videos. I just wish I could go back in time when the United States was a young and strong Nation, in today's world the United States is a laughing stock,we have a president that needs to be in a nursing home and not the White House,a President that can stand in front of the Royal family without passing gas,a President that can meet the Pope without crapping himself,a President that can go up the steps of Airforce one without falling down three times and I still can't figure that one out I can understand someone falling down the steps but falling up the steps, go figure.Joe Biden is the 25th most powerful man in the world and it's about time he acts like it.

I will never get tired of this story and speculate about what's to come with it. I truly hope Ron finds his father and that Mr. Landlord finds his wife on the grassland if she'll have him back. Ron, follow up reminder from Christmas 2021: don't forget to talk to the landlord's brother about options with the property like the landlord suggested at Thanksgiving. Merry Christmas everyone.

Yes the rent is coming due in a few weeks.
You can also whip the whites to meringue and add that in to make it frothy.

Now I want eggnog 😂. Great job, Ron!!
That was very well done. It is hard to avoid the scrambling but you did a great job. Many make eggnog without heating up the egg mixture but like you, I prefer the heating method as raw eggs no matter how mixed with milk and sugar do not appeal. My recipe is a bit different and you might try this another time. Do exactly as you did for the first few steps but instead of discarding the egg whites, whip them up separately. They should hold together but not be as stiff as you would for a meringue. Mix them into the yolk, sugar, and milk mixture and then heat them up exactly as you did, stirring almost constantly. When the heating is done, then let the mixture cool completely and at that point mix in some whipped cream. If you do add spirits to yours this is the time to do so. Mix the whipped cream in thoroughly and pour into cups, letting each person sprinkle on nutmeg or cinnamon or not according to taste. I only do this once a year at Christmas time and my family can hardly wait. I know that in times past though, eggnog was recommended for sick people and I wouldn't be surprised if it was done more like your recipe. I'm not sure all that egg white and whipped cream would be good for someone who wasn't feeling well! Anyway, Merry Christmas and a Happy and Prosperous New Year to both of you in your wilderness cabin.

Thanks for the skit, good story there Ron...lol...Happy and Prosperous New Year to you and all the watchers... :D
This is my first time watching your videos run I've been watching early American videos and trying to get all cut up on there and come over and watch all your videos. I'm really enjoying them I like the little bit of historical information that you give and how you make things using what you had available back then. It looked very very hard but you guys make it look really easy. Thank you for doing this it's very much appreciated ☺️

Oh, I wish I had a fireplace like that to cook over! Looks like fun! I have been to Mt Vernon before. The General was gone at the time, but Mrs. Washington was quite a delightful conversationalist. She told several stories about the General to a group of us. A great hostess to be sure! So, I believe you, Ron! Thanks for sharing the recipe! Merry Christmas to you and Justine!

Yes! In fact it goes back CENTURIES before this. It's an old drink. However it was usually an alcoholic drink until quite recently.
He mentioned Daniel Boone... My younger half sister is a Direct Descendant of Daniel Boone on his mother's side. A relative of hers did the genealogy.
