Hi Miss Christina! Beautiful first day on the TLSHT! Hope your heel gets better. Thanks for sharing this series. Take care and god bless
I’m planning to hike this same trail towards the end of Feb or early March this year. It looks nice.

It IS nice! We loved it. I hope you will, too! Will you be hiking the whole 96.4 miles?
The 400` marker on the Huntsville Section (@ 17.54) once marked the trail highpoint but improved technology lead to the correct highpoint on the Phelps Section: 445 ft (@ 8.37).
Finally!!!!
As always diverse, enjoyable and masterfully narrated! Your content is always refreshing, love it! 👏👏👏
Well, your off to a great hiking adventure here and what I am certain will be a very nice video series. It is too bad about your foot problem because feet are kind of important on trail. I wish you the best for dealing with that for 12 days. Thanks for sharing your time with us Christina, looking forward to the future videos.
Looking good.....trail looked amazing, and weather looked great, especially when here in Calgary it's been in the minus 32 to minus 35 with wind chil factors making it around minus 47.CONGRATES TO YOUBOTH.'Waching the video made me feel warm, and enjoyed watching you two on the hike.

Great start to your adventure! Heel spurs aren’t fun. Mine was healed with custom orthotics. Hope you got some relief.

Healed? What do you mean? Or do you mean you just stopped feeling pain? My heel spur first began hurting me at the end of the summer in 2019 and was diagnosed in autumn of the same year. The doctor prescribed, yes, all kinds of orthotics and special shoes, etc. I wasn’t having any of it. I went to the local Walmart and bought gel heel pads for $10 and voilà the heel spur never bothered me in the least again. The only reason it was bothering me at the time of this video is because I foolishly began running on a treadmill again this past autumn. Treadmills are horrible, horrible inventions for the joints, the bones, etc. I had been 100% pain-free for so long that I kind of forgot about my heel spur. Anyhoo, I certainly was reminded! Stay tuned for the progress of this maladie as this series continues, ha ha. Spoiler alert, it DOESN’T get worse! 😁

@@Womaninthewoods13 yes the custom orthotics corrected the plantar fasciitis and the heel spur vanished! It was brutal pain - training for and then running a marathon. That was about 15 years ago. I always need to wear shoes with good arch supports otherwise the plantar fasciitis would return
Nice bunch of oyster mushrooms (Pleurotus ostreatus( @ 14.35. You could have gathered and added them to your dinner!

I have done a couple of workshops on identifying edible mushrooms here in Canada and the big take-away for me was that for every edible mushroom there is, there is an identical twin poisonous one. I just don’t feel confident in my skills to know that I am choosing the safe one and not the one that will kill me, ha ha. Maybe it’s different in the USA (fewer poisonous twins); I know that it’s different in France. Anyhoo, for the moment, I will not be foraging my food. 😁✌🏼🫶🏻
I was just at this trailhead a few days ago and that tent is still there. It freaked me out at first.

Maybe someone should peak their head in to make sure that it’s empty! 😬

Lone Star earrings, huh?

I actually wear these star earrings all the time. You’ll see them in almost all of my videos. But I did laugh and comment while on the trail that they were never more appropriate then here on the Lone Star Hiking Trail, ha ha. 😂⭐️🥰🥾🥾✌🏼
I had to do a double take @16:24. Those are Egyptian Nile geese! Originally from Egypt! WTH? I can just here the locals going "go back from where you came from"!

I am in awe that you could discern their breed from that clip! And, it’s very cool that our past cross such a foreign and the rare breed. Thank you for sharing that information. Sorry for my late reply and have a wonderful weekend! 🥰🙏🏼✌🏼
