    @@mrjudgypants because that's how weightlifting is, idk if you've done it or not but you can literally fail a lift multiple times even if the weight is easy just because your balance is a little off, I was trying to do like 115 pounds (light weight like a mfer) but I failed it like 4 times and then got it once but tried it again and again after and didn't get it

    Clarence, could you explain why there is a jump/stamp of the feet in the snatch and the clean and jerk? Why is the stamp after the jump so pronounced and emphatic?

  • @effIron

    @effIron

    2 жыл бұрын

    Not Clarence here (obviously), but I can try and shed some light on it. First of all when they fully extend in the snatch and clean & jerk, they almost jump, and to get under the bar fast, they pull themselves under lifting their feet from the ground. Then then aggressively stomp their feet when they meet the bar to not have the bar crash down on them. Further more the shoes have wooden soles, and they are "jumping" on wooden floors. This is what makes the sound so pronounced. This isn't a technical breakdown of what happens, but more like "a way of imagining what happens" if that makes sense.

  • @pl7624

    @pl7624

    2 жыл бұрын

    They dont jump. Klokov explained in one of his seminars that your body leaves the floor because it follows the barbell path flying up. You extend on the heels as part of the triple extention, and then you must go down as fast as possible to get under the bar in time. That's why weightlifters stomp their feet. Some lifters exagerate and the stomp is very noticeable, others dont even leave the floor and have a very smooth movement. But as Klokov said, you dont think about doing it on porpuse, it just happens; think about sliding your feet to the sides as fast as possible, not jumping.
