A really useful list of commonly used verbs. Hope you present a list of commonly used adjectives, adverbs, nouns used in particular locations, eg. cities, the beach, the supermarket, restaurants, the garden, the kitchen, schools etc & perhaps combine them with verbs eg cook the food, cut the meat, make a list, drive a car. Thank you for your help in teaching Spanish.

This is fantastic! I’m beginning to listen to Spanish geared to children. Some have songs. If a song in the future has a conjugated form of a word it would mean nothing to me as I wouldn’t know the root verb because I haven’t found a video that might contain that word in the form you’re showing. You’re the first I’ve found so far. I may not understand the conjugation in whatever tense, but at least I could recognize that it came from pensar for example that I just learned here and replayed a few times to get it memorized. Some so called easy children’s songs already have the conjugation and it’s irritating as I never learned the root so I don’t get it all. Here I don’t have to look up every word. The more I replay it the better I’ll get understanding. If people want conjugations then find a more advanced video! At least if I should come across in the future a conjugation of pensar in a sentence or children’s song for example, at least I can say oh that’s from pensar I just learned and know what the heck I’m conjugating from while learning that certain tense. All I know is present, past and future. Fancy names for them don’t mean anything. What I can’t stand are videos that mention preterites, conjunctives, conjugate this or that in them. I don’t know what those are in English! Would be nice to find videos that say this is what a subjective or preterite is so conjugation makes sense. I know nouns, verbs and adjectives. Grammar was never my strong suit. Videos like this are a big help as well as native speakers saying the word. I understand better Latin American Spanish as an accent than Castilian, but have seen videos with both and understand both now but prefer to speak in the easier Latin American dialect.

I did Spanish 1 and 2 and part of 3 in school. Some text books do explain the tenses better than others. I agree, memorize the root first. You can catch on to the conjugation easier once you know the root. Children's songs work for children because their brain is still forming and it's easier for them to learn a second language young. Once you memorize the root, you can start to conjugate them later. The easiest way to learn the language well is memorize words and then watch the TV on a Spanish station. You will still look up words you don't understand but hearing them speak it is huge. I know enough to understand a lot of it, but I don't know all yet. I like watching Spanish TV because they expose you to the most used and common words as well as have some context and visual queues to it. I lived in Puerto Rico for a while and that helps a lot as well. I ended up marrying a Puerto Rican so that helped me learn as much as I did. But my wife speaks 3 languages fluently so, often she speaks in English to me even though I tell her to speak in Spanish more. She also speaks German and that language is much harder to understand to me. She lived in Germany for 13 months and went to school there and learned the language. It's not easy but immersion is definitely the best way to know a language well.

Truly, vocabulary is 1/3 of every language but, there is no such thing as «advanced» or «basic» vocabulary. The 2nd third of the language is grammar, and the third part is verb phrases. In order to make the best use of all 3-in-1, create an in-context vocabulary list starting with just one word. Develop the skill of meditation by considering deeply what is YOUR most important word, all yours, not most important to someone else or in general. Let´s take FIRE. That´s a great starter. Where can you go from there? How do you get from Fire to Ice? That is called «in-context». For example, and I pulled FIRE out of my head, out of thin air, Spanish has three concepts for Fire and they are specific. What qualities does Fire have? New word. What you need to understand is Spanish is not easy. You were told it is but, it´s not. Spanish has an active vocabulary of 3500 verbs whereas English has 20. Spanish has 40.000 total words whereas English has 20.000 which aren´t just French said wrong. I´m hot and it´s hot are very different in Spanish. That´s «in context».
