As a certified jeweler please do not take a flame to your pearls! Pearls are very sensitive to heat and can crack from exposure to flames. You could also burn the string and have to get it restrung.

If you want to do a safer/easier test just take your pearls and rub it against your teeth. Real pearls are porous and will feel scratchy, beads will feel smooth.

The reason why your ears do that with heavy earrings is because your ears are being stretched out by those heavy earrings. Putting a bandaid isn’t going to help you. A way to prevent that from happening is don’t wear those heavy earrings for a long time. Don’t pull on them. Just be very careful those earrings and go through your ear like butter.

I’m not a jewelry expert but my understanding about ‘glowing jade’ jewelry is that it IS jade. Its just that its ‘enhanced’ jade. Grade A jadeite does not glow under UV light but enhanced jade does. They enhance it to improve its translucency, color and appearance and there is a lot of this type of jade being sold. Even fine jewelry stores have enhanced and dyed jade because Grade A jade can be so expensive.

A lot of great ideas but you NEED to mention the plastic that you put in the oven HAS TO BE A NUMBER 6 plastic....which will show in the triangle. Not all food lids are a #6, otherwise you will get fumes and possibly start a fire.

Other ones for putting on my bracelet,fitting the ring better even cleaning the belly ring hole seem ok. But there's not a whole lot of details. Some other ones on here are just cute. Don't light fine jewelry on fire in an attempt to clean it. You could cause damage or tarnish it if its silver. Also if its dirty, the dirt/hair/skin flakes catch on fire leaving black residue all over. Just take it in for proper cleaning/polishing.

Or just get a silver/gold polishing cloth. That is way safer for cleaning fine jewelry. The jewelry cleaning solution you buy at stores is too harsh and is not good for fine jewelry either. Burning jewelry is never a good idea whether it's real or fake.

The marble "hack" is dangerous. They could explode and hurt you.

A lot of these are fake, most of them are fake. They just throw in stuff that actually works or is true once to trick you. Pearls are highly susceptible to heat, some jade glows, what they did with the marbles was highly dangerous and could cause severe injuries too. It's infuriating the misinformation they spread to millions

@@emxoxo222 To see if a string of pearls are real/genuine- rub them across your teeth. If they feel rough, they are real. Smooth, glass. Not socially acceptable or sanitary thing to do in a store, but if you already own them... then you'll know if its worth it to have them re-knotted.
