You said « arrive in the airport « .I thought that we usually use arrive in +a country or a town and with all smaller places like airports, hotels, work we use the preposition at .

They're similar but not exactly the same. "Grit your teeth" is more about physically clenching your teeth rather than confronting a difficult situation directly.
