Welcome to 1733 Westney Road N, a century home customized into a stunning one-of-a-kind modern home featuring Old Ontario revival and heritage-inspired architecture.
Restored by Tribute Homes, this is the site of Ajax’s historic ‘Westglen House’, which was originally built circa 1850 (with additions made in 1890 and 2019), and is situated on a sprawling lot that is almost half an acre in size. The now completely updated modern home showcases 3,918 sq. ft., plus an additional 1,090 sq. ft. for the finished lower level - and Tribute did retain some of the original features of home, such as the main level front and side door entrances, the stone foundation, and two arched windows that can be seen in the upper level hallway and in the master suite’s walk-in closet.
Some of the superb exterior finishes include pre-finished engineered wood siding; composite cedar shake roofing; aluminum railings; a detached double car garage with hydro; two driveways which can accommodate over ten vehicles; professionally landscaped yards with extensive flagstone, cobblestone pathways, garden beds, and trees; as well as extensive outdoor living space including two side porches, a wood deck, a side stone patio, a front porch, and a terrace off the master suite.
Some of the stunning interior details include historic-inspired 13” baseboards on the main level; hardwood floors and two hardwood staircases; extensive millwork; vanities with quartz counters, as well as upgraded floor and bath/shower tiles in all the washrooms; pot lights and gorgeous contemporary ceiling light fixtures; generously sized principal rooms; as well an abundance of natural light provided throughout all levels via multiple windows, doors and skylights.
Off the formal front entrance are the living and dining rooms. Both overlook the front porch, and the living room is also ideal as a home office. Its huge recreation area offers distinct spaces for entertaining, and has a separate walk-up entrance to backyard. This level also has an impressive vintage wine/cigar cellar that showcases the original stone foundation, a wood ceiling and accent wall, and ventilation to the outside (enjoy those imported cigars!)

Yeah. We removed that vent to see the wall behind it and didn’t put it back properly, then the air conditioning kicked in as I was shooting and popped it right out. Talk about timing though. So I’m the ghost 😊😂

This home is deceivingly large! You would have never had guessed it would have that much square footage by looking at the front of the home.
Wasn’t expecting that old fashioned stone wine and cheese room in the basement 😆

Amazing house. At first I've thought that butler's pantry is the whole kitchen since the house didn't look that big from the front side. The kitchen is simply gorgeous! The only minus of this house that I can find is the lack of fence. To be honest I see a lot of houses not having a fence at all which is weird to me as in my country if you don't have a fence around your land you can't even start to build a house plus having kids and/or pets requires to have a fence at least around the backyard.

That is exactly what I thought at first! Kind of weird a weird layout to walk into the butlers pantry first, it makes the kitchen seem underwhelming. Land that does not have a fence, has property line stakes that are basically sticks in the ground marking where your property ends on every corner of your lot and most neighbors respect the boundaries. It’s a desired look to go fenceless and neighborhoods without fences usually have invisible electric fences for their dogs and kids roam free

This is a newly renovated heritage home, known as Westglen, owned originally by the Westney family since 1892, in Ajax Ontario. Mr. Westney, who had the street named after him, ( Westney Rd.) which is where the home sits. Mr Westney farmed until he was in his 90’s.I live just down the street. A developer purchase the house and land. The home’s surrounding the farmhouse are new. It’s really nice that they did not tear down the home and just revived it. I think they did a beautiful job. I’m sure the fence will be put up by the new owners.

Todas las casas en Canada tienen sótano habitable a no ser que estén muy cerca de agua (lagunas o ríos) por lo general se alquilan como un departamento separado o se usan come espacio de entrenamiento (pool, home theatre etc)

This is/was the old Westney farm house in Ajax Ontario, known as the Westglen. I see the heritage plaque is missing from the front of the house. That vent popping out at the 7:00 minute mark is no coincidence... Haunted farmhouse. lol

yes it is!!! Dorothy westney is my great-grandma. My great aunt Eleanor Westney got the house when she passed away. My great aunts a profuessuer so she was travalling a bunch and couldn't take care of the house anymore. My family got to see it in person and they did a good job renovating it but im certain my great-grandmothers house isnt haunted!! if you have any questions I'd be glad to answer them!!!

The garage is not attached, the house is long and narrow, the kitchen is the longest I have ever seen and the layout is one of the weirdest I have ever seen and a lot of walking and a hell of a lot of cleaning!
