1712! SAINT HELENA'S CHURCH! BEAUFORT, SOUTH CAROLINA! HISTORY, ANCESTRY, & GENEALOGY ALL AROUND US!
We visited St. Helena's Episcopal Church that was established in 1712, in Beaufort, South Carolina. The church is one of the oldest churches in the United States, and has been the source of a tremendous amount of history. The church yard is full of Patriots from several wars, and some soldiers that you may be shocked to hear are buried here!

Actually, I AM related to one of those notable men you spoke of. Stephen Elliott is my 7th Great Grandfather! How cool is that? He'd be proud because an Elliott has fought in every major conflict in this country since the Indian Wars. Not to mention the others overseas. Very neat!
