17-Year-Old Flies Again After Crash Landing During First Solo Flight
After losing a wheel, young pilot Maggie Taraska regained her composure to make a emergency landing on a grassy field, and walked away unscathed. Now, just five days later, she's getting back into the cockpit. Maggie will be flying alongside her instructor, John Singleton, who was instrumental in guiding her to a safe landing during the emergency. After about 30 minutes in the air, Maggie landed her plane safely. She was all smiles as her dad welcomed her back to the ground. #InsideEdition

From what I saw, Maggie didn't crash land her plane. She successfully landed without proper landing gear. Amazing job, Maggie. And incredible job to Mr. Singleton.

Yeah, idk if you'd call it a crash, although she went off the runway at some point. It's more like an emergency landing.
The original audio was amazing..She was clearly scared witless at first...but seemed to grow in confidence a little bit as the time approached to land. Possibly the most incredible piece of audio footage i've ever listened to...incredible young woman

I'm glad to hear she's going to continue flying the plane after that incident. If such thing ever occurred again (hopefully not) she have gained some experience on how to land the plane with no problem and without fear. ✈

My mum was stuck in a lift for a while once. When the fireman got her out, the first thing he did was take her up and down in another lift. He said "If you don't do this now, you'll never want to go in another lift!"
It's _so_ nice to finally be able to put a face to the name after all this time!! :D Maggie is such a sweetheart, an absolute _rockstar_ and will no doubt go on to have an amazing time piloting aircraft for many decades to come!! I can't believe it's already been over 4 years since this incident - I still get a lump in my throat any time I encounter the original footage and that scared little "okay" early on during the situation, but my pride in Maggie just soars as I hear the confidence return to her voice! SO happy she kept flying and didn't let it put her off!
These kind of experiences forge great pilots. Maggie now has an advantage other new pilots don't: she has already proven herself capable of handling an emergency.

So much courage in that young lady FLY ON!
She's my HERO!!! What did most of you do at the age of 17??? If you never landed a plane you know that one wrong move and you DIE. What she did is amazing and as a Former Marine Corps Combat Pilot, she can fly with us any day of the week. Semper Fidelis, Captain T, U.S.M.C.
An absolutely brilliant job by Maggie, her instructor and the tower controller. Demonstrates how important training is. Listen to the whole audio to hear how everyone worked as a team to achieve the excellent result they did. Coincidentally, I had an minor engine fire on my first cross country solo, just didn't realise it until I landed and couldn't restart the aircraft. Hats off to you young lady, aviation needs more pilots like you !

Awesome job!! Her tone sure changed when she had someone familiar talking to her on the radio. Her flying for a while after the wheel fell off was a great thing for her, she got composed and realized she could do it. A story that will last her a lifetime.
Only found this on my home page after watching Maggie`s distressing flight. So happy to see her again and glad she got back to doing something she loves. I’m a male but still managed to get quite emotional with both videos. Glad you guys followed this up.
Wow! Great job Maggie! I watched the audio from your landing, and the composure you gained with this ordeal. You should be extremely proud of yourself!!

What a amazing brave young lady!!! Bravo to her parents!!!
Glad to know this girl survived an emergency crash landing, and she had the courage to try again with the help of a flight instructor. I hope she becomes a flight instructor herself. She can share what she has learned with others. Not everyone can fly an airplane, but everyone should have a basic understanding of how challenging it is to learn about being a pilot. This video spreads awareness, not just about flying, but about getting help and inspiration to not give up on what's important to you, especially right after things go wrong. I have been uplifted by hearing about this girl's courage to try flying again, despite the misadventure she had a few days before. This setback did not make her quit, she just needed some extra help just as many people do when learning a new skill.
Good for you Maggie. Takes a lot of courage to get up there at such a young age, in the first place, let alone after an incident like that.
So glad she got back flying so soon after her misdventure. Way to go young lady.
Now that's the way you do it! Way to go, young lady! Not too many people on the planet could tell a true story like yours. 😎👍

Great work Maggie youre a beast!
I agree with Michael Swader. It was a beautifully executed EMERGENCY LANDING. The title of this video is wrong. There was no crash. Only an excellent EMERGENCY LANDING by an excellent pilot.
When Maggie lands better with two wheels than I do with three.
Double and triple check those landing gears Maggie!! lol. Happy she's back to flying, great job on the emergency landing.
Great job by Maggie, the controller, and her instructor talking to her on the radio!
Reporter: How do you feel? Maggie: I'm not nervous right now, but after takeoff I AM going to do a flyby of the tower and have them count my wheels!!
Proud of your kid
Well done lady, wow! Would double check before you fly in future!
Amazing to have such supportive parents and instructor. I'll learn to fly once I come to some money. I'm 36 so there's still enough time to learn and enjoy the sky.
Impressive young lady, controllers and instructors: class act
Flying: Hours of shear boredom, interrupted by moments of stark terror
She will be great pilot in future
Good to see her get back on the horse.
I get shakey and nervous presenting in a Zoom meeting. Couldn’t imagine a wheel falling off my plane solo.
Good for her. I’d do the same. I cannot wait to get my PPL and do my first solo flight.
