Swing bowling depends more on the overhead conditions than the pitch (it's not seam bowling which is more dependent on the pitch and is predominant in, say, west indies, where the pitches have indeed been brought into question several times) unlike spin bowling where the pitch is the ultimate external factor. I will give an example, Joe Root took a fifer in India last series, he won't usually get a single wicket in an inningss elsewhere. That is 90% due to the pitch as the ball was spinning unpredictably, some were not spinning and there was total chaos. Now when Jimmy takes wickets here, you can say that the overhead conditions are very favourable for the bowler but no individual influences that. Making a square turning pitch is more a choice.

Broad and jimmy. Love this duo

One cannot compare him with the old greats like wasim akram.waqar younis.shoaib Akhtar...or even Muhammad asif....yet he is the one of the greatest swing bowlers and at 40 he is learning how to swing and seam it like Muhammad asif. Give this guy respect as he deserves it...I like him...it doesn't matter where he is good at....yet admit he is good.. keeping all his skills I would say he is a treat to watch

Broad and Anderson's pair is one of the greatest bowling pairs of all time in cricket.
