I have been left handed my whole life, and its pretty cool to know that there is a holiday for me and my fellow left-handed people. Its also interesting to know how left-handed peoples brains function different from right-handed people.

In my experience, left-handed people tend to be better at partner dancing--especially left-handed leads, because the left-hand is responsible for communication in all the basic moves. Then when you get to more advanced moves that require passing to the other side, crossed-hands, etc. the left-handers adapt more quickly to the change than right-handers--for the same reason that a left-handed athlete can adapt against either hand of opponent. The aptitude toward spatial awareness helps too.

My wife is left handed and my son is ambidextrous. He uses both hands to write and eat etc... and when he plays football for his team's, he can use both feet equally well and shoot, take corners and free kicks with the same power, which is very rare.

My great grandmother who was right handed had 9 children and all but 1 were left handed. My grandmother is left handed, my mother is left handed, and I am left handed. My son however is right handed 🤣🤷🏻‍♀️❤️ so I guess my family makes up most of the left handed population.

I can attest to the creative part. Being left handed myself I've written several fictional books that are available on Amazon (under a pseudonym), I've done numerous drawings of friends and family (for my own personal desire) that I've been told are extraordinary, played the Clarinet in school and had my IQ tested (for work purposes) and was deemed to be above average. I don't claim to be a genius, but I can say I'm very creative and also like to work with my hands and have a very high mechanical skill.

I’m left handed. Everyone I meet, I don’t tell them. Usually takes them a week before they notice. And Im gonna be honest. I don’t feel any different from right handed people.

I'm a left-handed bookaholic and I've read 929 novels since 1978-science fiction, fantasy, horror, mystery, thrillers, time travel, romance, westerns and literary classics. My # 1 favorite book is Gone With the Wind.

I am a lefty. Can't say that much from your video applies to me. I am the youngest of 4 and the only Lefty. Parents are both right handers. My 3 kids are all right handers. I believe the trauma I went through in kindergarten has had an effect on my life. My teacher was forcing me to write right handed. I would come home crying. So yeah, lots of early trauma until my mom put a stop to it but the damage was done, kind of hated school. Plus there was no left handed anything so I had to adapt to being a right hander with scissors, sports, and anything else. I can write with both hands but due to no one being able to teach sports to a lefty I am right handed in almost every sport when I played/tried it.

Several years ago, I answered an ad for left handed people at the local university. They were doing a study on the right side of the brain (which controls language and the left side of the body). They were trying to figure out what areas of the brain are activated for language use in order to help stroke victims. I ended up in an MRI for about an hour as they asked me all sorts of questions like name all of the animals you can think of in 30 seconds. Or name all of the vegetables you can think of in 30 seconds. It was really interesting. I certainly hope it helped further the research into helping people recover from strokes. Lefties rule!

Im a lefty too and also swing a bat right handed as thats the only way I was taught by coaches when little. I still have to have a left handed mitt because while I could adjust and catch a ball right handed Id still have to pull my mitt off throw it on the ground to be able to throw the ball to another team member.

I bat right and throw left. I learned to shoot with a right-handed .22lr and I'll never buy a left handed bolt gun, feels wrong lmao When I joined the Army, I learned the M16 A2 without an issue, as a lefty. Only thing I've changed on that platform is now I use an ambi safety. As for scissors, as a young child, I had a lefty pair. Now, as an adult, I use a pair of kitchen shears, cuz they work either way. I'll admit, it does look a bit weird seeing a pair of those in my office and another in the kitchen 🤪 Oh, ice cream scoops can be fickle, but not can openers. Simple fix for ice cream, use a big spoon and hot water✌️😎

It’s a right handed world so lefties have to conform and use their brains do use right handed tools. Right handers don’t have to use that part of their brain to conform at all. Most times I feel lefties have an advantage over conformity

After meeting people, I usually gravitate to other left-handers like me. Not knowing that they were left-handed in the beginning still boggles my mind. I even learned to slant to the right in my hand writing to fool my teachers

I am left handed but I cannot cut with my left hand no matter what scissors ( left or right handed) and I always unlock any door with my right hand...must be a bit ambidextrous.

I write left but have always been more comfortable using RH when using scissors. As a kindergarten teacher in a disadvantaged area I purchased left handed scissors for my lefty students and let them keep them at the end of the year.

fun fact: when left handed, while you’re writing, all of the pencil led will smear on the back of your hand! 😁 Edit: this happens to right handed people, and some people don’t have the problem 😊

I am left handed and one of my grandmothers is too. My cousin and his mother are lefties. My friend and most of his brothers and sisters are lefties. I think it strongly connects to genetics.

@@meepersxd4123 me too! I never even saw a left-handed desk til around fifth/sixth grade. By then, I was so used to right handed desks, sitting in the left-handed desk just felt weird! I remember this surprised my teacher, and she questioned me about why I moved to another desk. I told her it was too uncomfortable sitting in a desk I wasn't used to!

I now shake hands from my right, but it took me years to learn that most humans are right handed and they feel awkward shaking hand from the left.

I used to be left handed and was broken in kindergarten. I think the part of this video I most identified with was being creative! I wouldn't be surprised if being left handed is why I'm so creative!

My biggest agony growing up was having to sit in those half desks in study hall. The desk part only extended to the right so i would have to twist my entire body to use it to write.

I'm a left handed and I love it. It makes me feel unique because in the group of people who are right handed I'm the only left handed one 😉

Saadia Furqan--Get a Cutco pair of shears. They work in both hands and are self maintaining (they sharpen themselves). Also American made in Orleans, NY. Yes I sold Cutco knives in college.

My mother is left-handed like me. My Grandma is using her left hand for drawing and right hand for writing. I also use my right hand only while playing a guitar. I do everything with left hand. And by the way, people who use left hand most they use the right lob of their brain most which is creativity side.(And yeah It’s true for my humour and drawing skills) And right handed people use mostly left side of their brain most, which is the analitic side of brain. (But it’s not always true)

Upon retirement I’ve taken upon myself to mentor young people to become millionaires while they are young. Recognizing handedness is one component that we cover. Those that truly take the time to learn and understand the difference in life’s philosophy between left and right handers become rich in a short time. Those that don’t care to take the time are eliminated from the program. That is to say that they eliminate themselves. Yes…. I am left handed and I do this for no charge.

Dear scissors, thanks for making my elementary school life a living hell. Also, to my teachers...Sorry all my homework was gray.

I remember in primary, we had to write down our goals for the coming year, I wrote down be better at scissors and was questioned why. Then I was introduced to LH scissors which I never used

ha i honestly don't really feel like the odd one out anymore bc in my major (architecture) lefties are pretty common in my uni. it's only coming back when i hang out with students outside of my major

As a left handed I am actually a lot of creative that i get to a moment that i can think something no one thinks...I love this feeling tho..It makes me happy :D

I can remember my mother telling me that when she was young, students would have their left hand tied behind their back if they were caught writing left handed. It was seen as abnormal and evil. Glad to say that I am a proud lefty...which is great because nobody else can play my guitars.

I used to get pops in the face from my kindergarten teacher, once scratched which helped me get parents in school, the teacher would deny what she did. The more I bitched the more time out I got, like no recess, or fun times, but I would mess with her, and help other kids she had that she picked on up til I left. If i met her as an adult she would be the 1st and or 2nd only woman I would deck in the face. The other was a skin head trying to hit me in a club

@@CorredorDigital_ it was being lefthanded and my inner rhythm. When I would play drums set up for a righty I couldn’t keep count, without extreme concentration. But leftie thats not an issue. I am lefty w/ ambidextrous capabilities

I dont know i am left handed or right handed. i use mouse with left play cricket with left hand & write with right hand hold heavy things with right i am confused 😕

Years ago i read that most Piano tuners are left handed males I eat and write with my left hand. Pitch, use my phone, calculater bat, i do with right hand. Almost every thing else i do with whichever hand feels more comfortable at the time.
