Good sage advise to beach goers, "when in doubt don't go out." I've only been to Kauai in the spring months so luckily experienced mostly good conditions at the beaches. One of my favorite places was Hanalei Bay because it's so picturesque and fairly calm. We paddled kayaks on the river that empties into that bay. I enjoyed being around birds and the lovely jungle like setting. I'd like to go back and bring the family for surf lessons in that bay. Thanks Ben for touring most of Kauai beaches and especially seeing some obscure hidden ones usually not so popular with tourists.

Hanalei is among my top 3 favorite beaches. It really is amazing and like you pointed out, has a lot to offer in the way of adventure.

This video is so wrong to make. You obviously don't live here or understand what videos like this do to nature. Once these areas get ruined from being trampled, they will never go back. Shame on you. Just because they can be found on a map does not make it right to disrupt such a delicate ecosystem by directing the masses to nearly untouched areas.

@@kalalani Do you put this comment on all the Kauai videos? You may not realize that there’s too many to count and many of those other accounts generate 100K+ views. And I know for a fact that the business owners appreciate it. 🤙

While I understand the sentiment you may be too young to understand the Hawaii economy. Plantations are gone and replaced by tourism. Without tourism, there are no roads. And because I understand your sentiment I made sure to tell people where to stay away from and where the access is difficult (keeping more people safe and away). I also didn’t mention specific breaks. And all the beaches are listed on google maps. So no secret spot spoilers. The fact of the matter is that Kauai has been on radar since the late 90s. There is no going back to the little grass shack. And there are content creators much bigger than me both from the mainland as well as local who are posting Kauai. If you have issues with the poor infrastructure in Kauai it’s because the elected officials are not using all that tourism money for the good of the people. What do they do with all that money, certainly not upgrading the roads, bridges, power grids or affordable housing. If you wanna be mad, be mad at them 🤙

@@RealAdventureTheory Next time you come here it may not be as nice because of you. True lovers of Kauai come here all the time and respect the land and keep it sacred. By making a video like the you are not respecting this place at all. There are no shortages of tourists. The economy is fine. Why not just come here and quietly enjoy? You are trying to profit from exploiting something very sacred.

But… but there ARE videos, from locals and 100’s of other much bigger creators. There are books. And google maps. It’s all already out there. And I thought y’all would appreciate having at least 1 creator telling people where not to go. 🤷‍♂️ And also understand that Hawaii decided to have tourism as its economy when the plantations left. So yeah, y’all need tourism. Without it no mo roads, no mo ebt, no mo nutting. Nuh-ting brah. You’re probably just too young to understand it. Maybe when you get older and want to open a surf school, rental shop, fishing shop, shave ice or any business you’ll understand. The world is much bigger and more complex than surfing all day. And tourism gives you the access and the ability to surf all day. Remember that 🤙
