She sounds so emotionally responsible and mature. She appeared to be very well prepared for her flight. That airport was busy, and she was also on center line the entire time, for takeoff and landing.

ikr. 16 and got up at 430am to drive 1.5 hours to achieve her goal. What a beautiful young lady. My daughter is 17 ; they grow up so fast. Wasn't I just changing her diaper like last week?

Our youth have so many problems these days -- it warms my heart to see a young lady with a serious interest, and supportive family and teachers.

As a veteran, it's nice to see American young people doing something nice with their lives. Congrats to you and may the Good Lord bless you always. Good going.

I don't know you but I'm very proud of you I used to live in Long Island a long time ago when I was a little kid now I'm 61 I fly on the flight simulator but seeing you do your landing really makes me proud of you and I hope you continue your life in aviation and become a captain one day at a major airlines my dad worked for the airlines he was in the air cargo business I flew most of my young life and I love aviation and I also got involved in aviation by fueling jets at a little small private airport where I met a lot of pilots and I also loaded aircraft for delta airlines down in Melbourne FL an ending I would just like to say you go girl the sky 's the limit and I hope you have success in your life happy contrails.

Considering how many there are flying who shouldn't getting into accidents it was great to see a confident, young woman fly who actually knows what she is doing.

I held my breath the whole time ! Such a brave, beautiful young woman. God bless and keep you safe ❤

Great job. That is not an easy airport for a first solo; a lot of potentially confusing radio traffic. You did a superb job. Congratulations.

That's how a real Girl Boss rolls. Nothing gives me more joy than seeing a young person excel. . . "Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth And danced in the skies on laughter silvered wings. . . Where never lark, or even eagle flew - And, while with silent, lifting mind I've trod The high untrespassed sanctity of space, Put out my hand and touched the face of God." Excerpt from the poem High Flight by John Gillespie Magee Jr., a WW II Canadian fighter pilot. This is just the first and the last verse. The whole poem is definitely worth the time it would take to find it on the web. It was used as a sign off for many local TV stations when they shut down at night decades ago. I've heard it more times than I can count. While we're on the subject of hoodies, I would buy a UYA hoodie in a heartbeat. I bet I'm not the only one. You could put "Ground Crew" on it to distinguish it from participating members hoodies. Anyway, that's all I got. Cheers

Yes we're extremely proud of her as well.

Consider: in most states (USA) she is too young to operate a motor vehicle by herself on public roads. Yet she can operate an aircraft by herself, and does so quite well.

First solo is always an amazing achievement, Congratulations, Kamora! My one nitpick would be to make sure to always say your callsign/tail number at the end of your readback, sounded like she left it out a couple times. Other than that, great flying, and happy skies!

What an absolute BLESSING for all of those young folks!!! I'm not pilot at all, but couldn't help but notice that ATC was doing line-up-and-waits on the active runways when the students are performing their first solo flights!?!?!? Ahhhhh....
