..and Paul Simon at the Brill..nice line up have there..I live about an hour and a half from that Brill, being in Connecticut and we did an LP at Connecticut Recording Studios in Bridgeport Connecticut..Harry Chapin’s Cats In The Cradle was also recorded there..

Actually, Goffin and King wrote at 1650 Broadway, which is across the street from the Brill Building.

I can distinctly hear her mother's voice in Ms Goffin' s singing style Mr Sklar . Wow ,what a line up of guest musicians ! Wow ,what a wonderful musical pedigree in which to make music ! Best wishes to you and your dear wife .

Hey, Leland. So happy to hear Maureen will slowly start remedial shoulder therapy & that her back physio will restart this week! I love that you included Little Eva's start as part of Louise Goffin's backstory. Few people who are still alive could forget ♬The Loco-motion♬. Crazy fortuitous that Carole & Gerry's 'babysitter' would have a totally unforgettable voice & that they recognized it immediately. No wonder they were Brill Building royalty. The Shangri-Las version of Remember (Walking In The Sand), still stays with me as does the music of the 50s & early 60s 'girl groups'. Imagine! The music industry totally dominated by male songwriters/singers/groups, with few female singers breaking through, as solo artists or part of a group. I remember The Cookies singing "Chains" & "Don't Say Nothin Bad (About My Baby) They went on to back Ray Charles as The Raelettes. So cool that Little Eva fit in there too. Psst: I think you played bass on Red Lite Fever from Kid Blue. 🙂 (Ms. Goffin had quite a selection of top players on that album. Whoa!)

I saw Louise perform one song with her mother in concert at Union (Braden) Auditorium in I think 1973 or 1974, as I recall. Lou Adler was Carole’s record producer at the time, and he was there backstage. I specifically remember her mentioning him being there during her concert. However, I cannot remember which song they sang together, but maybe someone else might remember. This was long before (according to Wiki) her public debut opening for Jackson Browne when she was 17.
