This is Smiley's MKIII Supra. Smiley is a well known Jamaican man in the local South Florida import scene and he is a veteran in the game too. I remember when his Supra was making under 900WHP. Back in the day, he owned a 2JZ-GTE swapped 1st gen Lexus GS300. A lot of the local Import car owners of south Florida are from the Caribbean or have Caribbean roots. Jamaican, Trini, Haitian, Bahamian, Grenadian, Puerto Rican, and more. At the end of the day, It's about you and your passion as a individual person not by your nationality. Smiley's motor is pushing 1400+HP to the wheels and it has been on the dyno rollers many times. He's literally one of the most humble and respectful Supra owners in south Florida and treats people like they're his own family.

With a MK4, you have to pay through the nose for the car, then pay for mods. With a MK3, you're only paying for mods. I have both cars and find the MK3 more enjoyable. It's like a 240sx, but built alot tougher.

Well you have to remember that some of the outrageous dyno numbers we see are worthless. 1600hp at peak 1k rpm below peak its probably 1200 another 1k rpm below peak 700hp. A turbo car that lags till 5k and bounces off the rev limiter at 8k how usable is that power. That's how little ole 600hp v8s with a plate go door to door with 1000+hp import/exotics.

i was talking online with Smiley alot on the Supraforums in the 1jz section years ago. Very knowledgeable person. Cool as shit. He was one of the guys that did not hide any facts, very open. I just watched this video again... i didn't realize how fast he shifts. Daaaaaaayum. Brotha got skills. No wonder he puts "bus lengths" on people he races. Its not just the car, but as he tells me " its the combinations" (car, parts, driver , tuning, tires ... so many variables. But it seems he has chosen the right ones. For that much power, i would think his car would be laggy. When it gets into boost, it just keeps pullin'.!! good going Smiley. Much resprect!

I loved the MK3 when it came out, it was slow but soooo cool, to see one like this it's like this is exactly how it should be, frackin nice fast car and the guy is humble about it too, very cool.

my brother had one of these, the turbo with 5 spd back in the day.. he put an hks exhaust , ditched the cats, added a variable boost to the stock turbo and lowerer springs and better shocks....it used to get up and haul ass! scarey fast to me, though nothing like this dudes beast..ours was plenty for our street driving back then... the extra boost made the car feel sooo much lighter, its heavy by nature ,but when u add more boost , it hauls itself so effortlessly as a result... the exhaust souded vicious and the suspension improvements along with the boost made it light and agile feeling and dead flat for corners...that shifter though, truly ugly as hell...we never changed it but its just too long and tall and out of place..i supose there are many aftermarket options to make it short... cool car and very underated ,ofetn skipped over becuz of the attractiveness of the generation that came after it...

That Supra is insane.....

A turbo'd 1/2jz and RB engines are the only engine sounds I prefer over the sound of the LSx engines. I currently own a 5.7 hemi.

I was under the impression that E85 is widely available in Florida. If so then making 1000+ hp is plausible. All sorts of things are possible if the time is taken. All too often the time isn't taken and jobs are rushed.

As a former MK3 Supra owner (about 25 years ago) I can honestly say I LOVED that car, and always will love this gen of the Supra's, and this car here is amazingly badass, and great to see such an old girl kicking so much ass, and still looking beautiful. One minor visual gripe is the front wheel needs a better offset IMO.

What impresses me is the setup designed to make this power along with the driver skills keeping that big turbo in boost between shifts.

It has aluminium rods. Only the big boys with more than 1300hp run those things to spare the bearings and crank at high hp levels. dont let the wheels fool you.

OMG what a beautiful and fast car!!! My one is a 1989 MK III and *shame on me * only 270 Horsepower and the only Upgrade is the Fujitsubo Japan Exhaust , but i love it too. In the next year she becomes a special Mark called "H- Kennzeichen" here in Germany and then she is offical a "Oldtimer". Greetings from Germany

My neighbor had one. He was a "mini junkyard" and he scrapped it because it had no engine. I'm still hooked to the supra, specifically the 1986 Toyota Supra. The reason why I love is the old boxy look of the 80's, and the pop up headlights!!! I love the mk4's but it is just not the same, just my opinion

Omg.... Smiley I believe has the fastest Mk3 Supra.. this thing is such a beast and that straight cut transmission is Bad AZZ for rowing gears. Congrats bro on such a beautiful build!

Holding the power is an understatement with only a 7.5% loss in drive train geez idk about that dog box but if its doing that then thats really freaking efficient

Man, I'm jealous of these dudes that live down south. A car like that would never last this long up here with all the winters and salt we have. 😔
