I just watched ep 8 of Devil’s Plan and honestly I cried. You had so much bad luck, but you always were always honest and kind and became my favorite person on the show. But it seems like you made new friends (maybe even a K-pop idol 😅). You made me a subscriber and someone who wants to learn Go!

My wife started watching a new Korean game show on Netflix and I happened to notice you in the intro, so I sat with her to see if it was really you. When you walked through the door, I was very happy to see you. Unfortunately, I don’t know Korean and my reading of Japanese subtitles is too slow, but I’ll give the show a go anyway. Good luck. @@goproyeonwoo I later found out that I can switch out to English subtitles, so I’ll have to rewatch the first episode. Those rules seemed extremely complicated. Maybe they’ll make more sense in English.

I believe the AI cheat was on FoxGo or Oro (informal and insignificant online match). It was not like that she likes to cheat, she was just checking the winrate. After the 1 year ban from Korean baduk association, she came back ever stronger and more hungry.

Thanks for the video! Maybe consider changing the title from "girl" to "female professional" or "female player". Referring to professionals or adults as "girl" is derogatory in English. We know you meant no disrespect, this is a common thing that happens when translating. And if you want to make the title scan more easily in English go for "16 year old female professional beat the 4th place pro in Korea" but that's less important than the other change. Love your videos and style!

She's not an adult though, she is 16 and LITERALLY a girl = female child/teenager. I know what you're talking about but the word girl itself isn't an insult, not if the person is actually still a girl... calling her that makes her success only seem more amazing imo :) (I'm a woman myself if that matters)

Um, 김은지先生 is under 18 . . . and even apart from that, every football women's and men's world cup it's normal to refer the England team as our girls or our boys. It's normally going to someone personally in a formal context and calling them girl or boy that would be considered demeaning if it's obvious you don't mean it in a casual sense. At least that's how it is in the UK, I'm nor sure which countrt your from, and it would be quite sexist to say girl is derogatory but boy is not

@@twitter.comelomhycy Thank you for sharing your perspective. I agree that different cultures and contexts matter a lot in these situations. I can only speak from my own cultural perspective. I'm from the Midwestern US and calling any type of professional person "girl" or "boy" in the context of the thing they are a professional of is very disrespectful. I feel like this seems to be more of an issue with mind-sports like chess or go. Usually in athletic competitions players are only able to turn pro after they turn 18, so the distinction of what term to use is clear. However, many go players become pro before that age so it can be unclear what term to use. In my opinion if someone is a professional they should be granted the respect of being called a pro and not just a boy or a girl regardless of their age.

​@@Arcticp75 Well I personally feel there should be no minimum voting age in all countries. When I was under 18 I used to believe that a minimum voting age of 18 made sense. Now I'm almost 24 with the inverse opinion. And as I recently found out, statistically America should be even more inclined to remove the minimum voting age because compared to Europe, there is an extraordinary low correlation. A claim of age with wisdom is a defense of utmost weakness when a lot of the USA's number one enemies are elderly individuals in the Arab world. If USAians really believed that, they would gladly welcome the wisdom of the old Russian and CCP officials in their elections! Wise people never brag to other people about their wisdom but are indeed shy as the sword of those destined to inherit the earth. I run away from old people who claim they're wise and run towards old people who are humble because while I refuse to ascertain certain the most of thine beliefs I might say for sure that any a person who has lived for an extended period of time yet still humbly believes themselves as knowing little is a being of vast wisdom a rich mind while those highly confident in there wisod are more likely mixing it up with the inability to uproot bad habits. Indeed mindsports demonstrate that there are some things that are impossible to learn after 24 expect perhaps under extraordinary circumstances. Every old scholar issuing fatwas on the US think they're rather wise indeed.
