Pity about the producer who is a gabbling half wit.
Toycat‘s grandma being from Sri Lanka is so ingrained in my mind that it‘s the first thing I think of when I think of that country
I relate to the Antarctica fact. There seems to be around 10 fun facts that everyone knows, so it’s just irritating and kind of patronising when someone mentions them. An example being “Did you know cleopatra lived closer to the moon landing than to the construction of the great pyramids?” So thank you for supplying us with genuinely interesting and unique fun facts!

bro this is one of my biggest pet peeves, i hate when people say "fun facts" that everyone knows and acts like theyre so smart for knowing it
Here's another crazy USA fact: The greatest distance between any two points within the US, including all territories, is 9,514 miles/15,311 km from Point Udall, Guam to Point Udall on St. Croix in the US Virgin Islands. Yes, they have the same name, and there's a story behind why. Point Udall in St. Croix was named after Stewart Udall (US Secretary of the Interior under JFK and LBJ) in 1969 (obligatory nice). In 1987 legislation regarding renaming Orote Point to Point Udall, Congressman Denny Smith and Guam's nonvoting delegate at the time, Ben Blaz, said "If our legislation is approved, America's day would begin and end at a Point Udall". Point Udall in Guam would end up being named after his brother Mo Udall (late representative in Congress for Arizona and former chair of the House Interior Committee). When Mo died in 1998, Bill Clinton said, "It is fitting that the easternmost point of the United States, in the Virgin Islands, and the westernmost point, in Guam, are both named 'Udall Point.' The Sun will never set on the legacy of Mo Udall."
The American Revolution (United States) was said to have inspired revolutions in Haiti and France, and when France got Napoleon to wreak havoc, the Portuguese king went to Brazil. After Napoleon was exiled, the king went back but his son stayed, and rebelled against Portugal. After the American Revolution, Britain was dirt poor, so it couldn't hold many of its other territories. The creoles in Spanish-america saw all this happening and said "hey now seems like a good time." And that's how French, British, Spanish, and Portuguese lost the majority of their land in the Americas. The more you know 😊
my favourite fact was that Japan is actually a peninsula (22:02)
Weird fact #17 Quebec does not recognize the current provincial border with Labrador. Many maps shows part of it as disputed. Some maps drawn in Quebec claim vast areas as part of Quebec. It is an unresolved and much ignored concern in the rest of Canada.
Burkina Faso was better off under Comrade Sankara. He prioritized education, built roads and railway to tie the nation together, he reduced the salaries of all public servants including his own, vastly improved healthcare and made the country self-sufficient in terms of food production. He removed its dependence on the West. It was his ideology that helped make his country better for all. But of course, France wanted to maintain its dominance over the region and backed his assassination and coup by Blaise Compaoré. Yes, he may not have been perfect but ultimately, he was a great example for the rest of the continent, to rebuild themselves and not have to rely on a bigger power.
Don't call it the Sahara Desert, just say the Sahara or Sahara. Sahara MEANS desert in Arabic! Pokémon fans already know Isle of Man as the Isle of Armor! And regarding Singapore, they were kicked out because of race riots on the island (political and religious tensions between the Malays and the Chinese majority) that Malaysia wanted nothing to do with as the main reason. These tensions were caused by Singapore facing restrictions when it comes to trading with the rest of Malaysia, so Singapore didn't spend on economic development for Sarawak and Sabah like they were supposed to in retaliation, and when Singapore tried to negotiate, there was nothing but abusive speeches.
Wait wait wait. If it's true that "It's not a Fun Fact if everyone knows it" (5:00), then doesn't that imply an inverse relationship between the awareness of a Fact and how Fun it is? And doesn't that mean Toycat is making these Fun Facts _less_ fun just by sharing them? OH NO!

Venezuela Oil is also in lots of sand (oil sand, not the surface sand), which used to be almost impossible to extract from. We can do it much better now, but it's still expensive. The oil in Canada is close to the surface and the snow cave us some trouble. I don't miss working in the oil fields :D
Yea Venezuelans are so happy that’s why 7 million have fled the country creating one of the largest displacement crises in the world. So fun and happy 😃

Fun fact, Liberia 🇱🇷 is the only other country besides the USA 🇺🇸 that celebrities the 4th of July. They are also the only country outside of North America that celebrate Thanksgiving & only 3 countries celebrate Thanksgiving USA 🇺🇸, Canada 🇨🇦, & Liberia 🇱🇷 which for the 3rd one doesn't really make sense when you first look at it but when you dig deeper it will all make sense.

That's right, it's in the same situation as Jersey and Guernsey. It has its own parliament, the Tynwald, and does not return an MP to the UK Parliament. Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales might be regarded as self-governing parts of the UK as they have their own parliaments or assemblies but also return MPs to the UK Parliament.
Having been to Burkina Faso twice (July 2021 and October/November 2022) and my girlfriend having half her family from there, I was really happy to see Burkina Faso in this video!! As it is a truley wonderful country that is very often forgotten by most people when thinking about the West African region. However yes the situation is indeed extremely sad, the whole norhten part is being attacked by jihdadists. If it werent for this the country would be in a much better state right now. However the capital Ouagdougou and the southern parts of the country still stays safe for for travel for forgeiners. Anyhow im still happy ou ended that segment on a very positive note!!

Fact #15 is a verifiable fact-when you visit Oman you will say oh, man 💯💯💯 Best Arabian country to visit imo. It is safe & affluent like the other Gulf states, but not gaudy like the UAE & Qatar. The nature is beautiful-tons of beaches, mountains, and canyons right next to Muscat. It has a more substantial history (in my opinion) than any other current country on the Arabian peninsula and as such, Muscat has older architecture and a more “authentic” feel than the new-money cities like Doha, Dubai, Riyadh, etc
Now, you shall make a video entitled 16 wierd facts about 16 WIERD countries

Irish customs/passport control is also in seville airport in Spain, I'm thinking this is actually a pretty normal thing nowadays? It might be wise if a non irish british or e.u* citizen to allow extra time after passing thru normal airport security as sitting in burgerking and running to your gate last minute not realising this could be detrimental.
Why do you call something that is unique, special or innovative weird? Weird is having a pet giraffe. Weird is going to a rock concert in a pink tuxedo. Weird is eating cereal with a fork. So many of the things you cite are rational, though not common approaches to a problem.

A reason why there are relatively slow speeds throughout Africa (and not JUST Bihari Faso, is because of the prevalence of very large mammals. You may have heard of some. Hippos, Rhinos, water Buffalo, elephants and more. Go ahead and do some research on other African countries and their night time speed limits.
"Average capital city per nation is 1.06" is not a statistical error. The average is much closer to 1. South Africas Georg, who has 3 capital cities, is an outlier.. and we should count it anyways.
