I really like the values that light academia has which is enjoying life 🍃.... but my emotion instability just whispered to join the dark academia instead 🖤🖤

I'm creating Brown Academia. It's a lower to middle class aesthetic. For those Auto-didactic learners that never could afford college. Focusing on frugal living, The modern philosophy of minimalism is perfect. Academic focus would be Philosophy, history, science, etc. Also learning light home repair along with gardening, and cooking, and the like. The mindset is more Logic and reason based, Realistic philosophies such as Epicurus, Schopenhauer, Camus etc. Working an honest hard day is not shameful, and neither is saving 20% of your income every week for your retirement. But since you are more curious and learned then the average Joe you enjoy some different things. Such as a nice waistcoat and a flat cap. Mixing blue jeans with a dress shirt and waistcoat would not seem unusual on a night out. A cup of tea and a hearty homemade stew would hit the spot. I kind of think of Hobbits.

This is really cool. I kind of like the punk academia/bibliopunk feel of actually wanting to change the world and not just describing it (I think that was Marx's XI thesis) but I tend to collide with the punks because I don't wanna just protest, I wanna create something new. Not just destroy, but build. Your brown academia seems like just the thing (but I may be biased because Tolkien is the GOAT)

Excellent! That is the missing piece, let's make this official. For me it is my "nerd-girl-in-business-for-herself" esthetic: Nice wool blazer and Jeans, with safety boots and, sometimes, protective goggles. Much of it is sewn or flipped by myself, as my apples are self-grown. Real high-tech titanium-framed glasses with progressive lenses, for vision and comfort, not as an accessory. Taking up a new intellectual but practical pursuit from time to time: From language over evidence-based gardening to microcontrollers. The overarching theme for me is being more outcome-oriented than contemplative and more active than most other academias, apart from science and ballet.

i think light academia fits me but dark academia is what makes me feel something along with art academia and chaotic too

Well, I have been leading a combination of witchy, dark and writing academia most of my 53 years without knowing there was such a way to describe it. Never on purpose, but naturally.

this is such a well made video! thank you so much, it's very inspiring my vibes: chaotic academia - makes me feel valid for not being able to focus on things im genuinely interested in, gives freedom to try unconventional approaches to learning - mismatched aesthetics dark academia - for some reason i detest the idea behind the aesthetic, maybe bc of the exclusiveness of the people credited as "inspiration for it" (you know like those skinny extremely pale very attractive people who model its clothes, the snobbish rich boarding school boys who embody its aesthetic, the participants who shame you for not knowing such and such literature or movie or something) - BUT I LOVE THE FASHION. PLEASE GET ME THOSE DARK COLORED TURTLENECKS AND TRENCHCOATS AND BLAZERS. PLEASE. I NEED BLAZERS ASAP I WAAAAANT - thank you for coming to my ted talk gothic academia - my stance is similar to that of dark academia but also includes my appreciation for the solitary dark moments it romanticizes. i both like the fact that it appreciates the darker aesthetics but dislike the fact that so many people romanticize it when it reminds me of the solitude of depression. just my take. but it gives the raven by edgar allan poe vibes, sorta? like i mean read the first line of the raven and it literally fits so well, "once upon a midnight dreary while i pondered, weak and weary, over many a quaint and curious volume of forgotten lore" like--- mr. poe out here inventing the aesthtic low key-- OO_OO witchy academia: - not a witch but i LOVE the confident researchy vibes of this aesthetic. like "idk how you're solving your problems but im reading a book on how to make a potion, going outside on a quest to find the ingredients, and then performing a cool ass ritual for it." like its so badass and thats what's appealing-- - collars writer academia - i love creating pinterest boards and picrew creation for original characters - i also like worldbuilding - makes me inspired to carry around a notebook with me all the time vibrant academia - i love bright and bubbly styles, especially art, but mixed with darker genres - 8/10 chance i would be a teacher - i love the colorful application to notetaking - HARAJUKU FASHION grey academia - freedom to use your own aesthetic for social awareness and dismantling oppressive groups - very insightful with issues like the cottagecore racism stuff, i never heard of that before but i feel more educated on it now so pog

So I’m a mixture of dark academia, witchy academia, , gray academia, writer academia, and theatre academia with a tad bit of science academia

I feel like I am drawn to Gothic and dark academia recently I have an interest and gotten into intentional living, slow living, and minamalism. However, one the that caught my most attention which fits into the dark or Gothic academia is memento mori I was thinking of including the practice of memento mori and combine with intentional living, minamalism, and slow living. If I were to find my true aesthetic it be a combination of dark Gothic academia. Because my themes are more mature an online friend of mine told me I look stern than the clothes. And I think what matters is not necessarily the looks, yet practice of various types of academia. I think I found mines. :) Dark and Gothic academia as combonation.

Vibrant academia is really me ^^ but I created another aestethic :D

I thought Academia and general aesthetics were a vibe and a fashion style rather then a subculture? I´m surprised that there's so much philosophy and and so many ways of living involved.
