I'm an ENFP, and because my INFP friend has helicopter parents, sometimes I feel like her parent and yes, it is kind of wholesome at times. If you ignore the parts where she randomly points out the car window and states, "Dying in that field is on my bucket list." And I'm just like, "bruh, that's the fifth place you pointed at this week saying the same thing! You can't die at 5 different places!" And then she replies saying, "watch me."

Being an INTJ, I can simultaneously be the happiest, jolliest, jovial fellow while wearing a poker face, alone and silent in the corner at a gathering. Can't tell you how many times counselors singled me out and asked if I was alright. One time a guy sat down with me at a youth banquet. Gave a long speech about the importance of human relationships. When he finally asked what was on my mind.... Peanut butter. I was contemplating peanut butter. And I was happy.

@@timefortee Do you genuinely believe that personality type is hinged entirely on genetics? It holds a bearing of course, but it cannot be an exact determinant. I have an ESTP brother and an ISTJ brother as an INTJ. My parents are ENFJ and INFJ respectively. It’s not always gonna work that way. Take this as well, he used cognitive function families so they all do happen to use the same cognitive functions, just in different/reversed orders. It’s less outlandish than mine if you think about it.

Growing up, my family was composed entirely of IN-- types, so our games nights looked a little different. The INFPs (my mother and brother) had the most extreme strategies. My mum used what we call the "Woe is me" strategy. She would accuse people of ganging up on her, so that they would feel bad, and she'd have time for a slow build to victory. (Family never fell for this strategy, but it never failed to fool people who hadn't encountered it.) My brother's strategy was always just to torpedo as many people as possible on his way out, if he didn't see a road to victory. My dad (INTJ) and I (INTP) always went with less... explosive strategies. We tended to try to logic our way to victory.

@@lucyk2634 To be fair, we DO gang up on her, and she sincerely feels hurt by that. However, she's the kind of player that will dominate the game if you don't crush her early. We all know that, so yeah... we crush her. No mercy. The first few times my husband (INTP) played with us, he believed her and went easy, even though I warned him ahead of time. It took a few of her victories before he realized that he should have listened.

As an ENFP with an ISTJ dad and an ESTJ stepmother...this hurts by being very relatable. The calmest conversations with them are about goals, results and efficiency. My ENTP sister is great and we get along as long as the discussion doesn't involve feelings too deeply, sometimes she literally says she doesn't understand feelings the way I do. She's way better at negotiating things with my dad and stepmother but even she gets drained by them.

I literally have a video of my daughter, at 6-ish, sitting on the floor of a doctor's room, meditating and chanting "Ommmm..." while my son, 3-ish, inserts "blah blah blah" over and over as she chants to disrupt her. That video makes me laugh now that I've been learning about personality types and they were acting like such type sterotypes at such young ages.

As an INFP that hates camping, I agree with the ISTJ dad about being away from modern conveniences. My family is obsessed with camping but I hate all the dirt and the bugs and how bright it gets in the morning and that one rock that is in just the right place to make me feel like I'm the princess from Princess and the Pea. I am way more in my element in a dark room with my computer, properly refrigerated snacks, and having just enjoyed a nice shower. When it comes to marshmallows, I do sometimes wonder if the hoof powder is taken after death or before and, honestly, I'm too chicken to look it up. Also as someone with both an ESTP and an ISTP brothers, this is definitely their relationship. The ESTP provokes the ISTP for his own amusement and the ISTP either ignores him or gives it back as good as he got. How they are still so close I have no idea.

@@j.low-key4834 I'm INFJ and used to be married to an INFP. We were great while dating and definitely connected with intuitive things. We had some really interesting conversations. We also had a lot in common as far as our hobbies and interests (but there were definite differences there too). However, actually living together was a struggle. He had this idealistic perception of the person he wanted me to be, and I kept falling short of it, while he attributed motives to me that simply weren't true. He kept being disappointed, basically, that I wasn't stronger in Sensing and never understood my Introverted Intuition (though at the time we didn't know about cognitive functions). Also, his Fi couldn't handle that my Fe wanted to pay attention to other people in my community and not just him. Eventually I had to learn to appreciate myself and get out of that toxic situation. Of course everyone's experience is different. He was also Gemini, so I think that caused some of his traits to manifest themselves more strongly, and my Taurus self couldn't handle all the instability. I could see INFJs and INFPs working if they understand well what they are getting into from the start. In my case, we really didn't. Now that I know myself well, I feel much better equipped to choose the right partner.

Bro, I'm an INFP with an ENFP mom and a ISTJ dad. My life is basically my mom and I making dad jokes and puns, while my dad stays serious, lol! Sometimes we even discuss some philosophical topics, and it's really cool, but we always get back to joking. Oh, and the nature thing is relatable, my mom loves nature, my dad needs air conditioning, and I just stare at the trees and start daydreaming about Narnia.

@VyVAceShaz the music thing is so trueee! I'm a music student (kind of trying to be a producer) and every time I'm in nature I find myself thinking of the song that fits that moment. I'm so deep into this I have a playlist for when it rains and one for that moments when I'm in nature and/or feel out of place, LOL

@VyVAceShaz I feel you, that's how I've been living my life for the last 19 years 😂. And I do some personification too, I wrote a song about wandering through dead trees and trying to speak to them/bring them back to life; the concept is the feeling of being misunderstood/out of place, but the metaphors and personification are there. Guess our imagination is just too deep to understand.

Its all just about feelings and how much ppl like u or u like them so they will accept your offer or whatever.. and well we ENTPs really do hate feelings shit. i mean I don’t even really know how to play monopoly bc I always get bored so yeah but the manipulation part of the game is fun thats true. My mum's an ENFP and family holidays are a nightmare. It's like - hey, we're going to south america! except instead of going to a resort, we're staying in a remote bungalow owned by some guy named Juan she met in an alley behind the airport, but before we get there, we're going on a detour with the cab driver who speaks about three words of english to collect his angry-looking grandma and then all break into a nationally protected bio-luminescent lake. And then, the holiday inevitably gets extended several days because she booked the wrong flights home. I've got to say, as chaotic as our vacations are, it's because of her that we've had so many insane, life-changing experiences that hardly anyone else could reach if they *tried*.
