In this video, I demonstrate how to mill rough sawn lumber on a joiner and planer. I explaine what rough sawn lumber looks like before and after you process it on the jointer and planer.
The main purpose of a jointer is to create a flat reference face and edge. The job of the planer is to create a parallel flat face. In the video, I touch on how to read the grain direction to avoid twear out while using the jointer but forgot to mention this prior to sending the iece of wood through the planer. Please make sure to read the edge grain before sending the face through the planer to avoid tear out.
