i remember back in high school in australia, the backboards were made out of cheap wood with some rusty screws. our team were winning by like 30 by end of first half, the opposing team throw the ball right at the board before half time. the ball went straight throw n made a hole on the board. we continue the game with a hole of the board, then the opposing school had to pay for a new back board. true story

Backboards are made of either tempered-safety glass OR acrylic (A clear plastic which resembles glass). All backboards used in the NBA and other professional leagues mostly use tempered safety glass backboards nowadays, in which the glass will stay intact if it ever breaks.

I observed that everytime when a backboard breaks, people will shout like it was the best thing ever done in Basketball😂

Helicopters don't actually fly. It's just lift, vs drag and rotation. You can't actually jump a motorcycle. You're just using forward momentum to propel yourself off of a ramp and into the air. You don't actually shoot a basket. You just forcefully direct the basketball into a flight path that results in it dropping through the circular scoring apparatus. Shut the fuck up, you self-important, wannabe intellectual jackass.

But you foiled my plan by revealing one of the most important and enjoyable aspects of basketball: to have players end up fouling more often because they get distracted by the pool noodles while playing. If the backboard breaks, it is the nature of the sports and they (dunkers) don't usually pay. The host would just replace it. The game will stop, and be postponed. Backboards don't break so easily anymore these days, as they are made of tempered glass now. Usually, it is not the dunker's fault but this has to do with the basketball backboard quality of the host. they designed new hoops where the pressure goes to the arm so the glass won't break. the only reason that glass still break is because they don't have a arm attached to the rim. and they make it out of glass so it won't obstruct the audience's view, and they have a consistent thickness no matter where on any backboard.
