Tim has given me such a great sense of who Jesus is and why we should all follow his teachings. The more I listen, the more I understand how to change my life with making better decisions to be a better human in God's Kingdom. Thank you so much Tim, your explanations of the bible are truly life changing for me! Keep up the great work!!

Interesting how the physically blind were the ones actually seeing (truth) vs the physically seeing , are actually blind (to reality ); Pharisees , also how they concluded Jesus must be of the devil, having healed the blind man. IS patently *projection. Thank you , Tim Mackie for all these lectures, you’re making us see the real Jesus per Scripture (vs “my version” of Scriptures).

That was just excellent teaching, Mr. Mackie. I'm reading and contemplating the words in the book of James. Faith. I must have it as a follower of Jesus Christ. Now I know what grows my faith. Open-mindedness. Like I just said: excellent teaching, Mr. Mackie.

The whole "faith coins" part was literally me a few months ago 😂. Like I was praying then I got to a point where I wondered how weird it felt that I had to be at some level of faith to have my prayers answered. But its not about me, it's about following Jesus 🙌🏾 And the story about him and his son building the shed with a door. I get it now 😌 Jesus will meet you at the level of your faith in him. So yeah. I shall trust that who he is is true, and live according to him. thank you Dr. Tim 🌸

Thank you for this renewed challenge and explanations. Thinking about where i am and people around me...i have come to realize how much superstition there is, not faith in the Biblical Christ. A Christian bookstore, when we had them, they were full of superstitious icons and books, music, even illustrations to purchase. These popular doodads pull people away from the true Christ, LORD. It is so heartbreaking. Thank you for Truth...such Joy!

Thank you Tim, so you that is why I'm stuck in this last 2 years, I have become closed minded, from the initial total trust, I really need to pray with Jesus, and solve my issues with Him, I'm actually acting like your son, wanting the things on my unrealistic way, may God be merciful with me, and may I be merciful with my self and embrace the God's way. Thank you again Tim, may the Kingdom come wherever you go! Amen

If anyone reads this, any guidance will be appreciated. I have been watching many of the sermons on this channel with great delight. I love how the books in the bible as well as difficult concepts are broken down in a way that makes living in a more Christ like way possible for me. I am a very logic driven person, always asking why and feeling stuck when my confusion isn't clarified or when the answers I get are shallow. I am planning on taking learning from these videos more seriously and take notes :). But I need help figuring out the most efficient or most valuable way to go through the bible. I was thinking of rereading the gospels first and then watching the corresponding videos. From there I am thinking of spending some time in the old testament. Or maybe cover one new testament then an old testament book? Really not sure how to go by it. I am also familiar with the Bible Project. I think I will watch the animated shorts before delving into a book first as a brief introduction. Maybe go back and re-listen to the podcast as well (I have listened to all but the last two or three). I promise I am not a stalker lol. I have just been so thirsty for understanding and guidance. I am so glad I found this channel as well as the Bible Project. Thank you to Mackie and everyone involved.

I echo Terri’s recommendation- Tim Keller’s preaching has changed my life. If you go to the website www.gospelinlife.com/free-sermon-resource , there are lots of sermons under different topics... it could lead you in an order that matches your questions...

Just be consistent in reading it. Pick a plan and stick to it, there is no perfect order. Pray for the Spirit to teach you what the word is saying and meditate on the passage throughout the day, maybe pick a part of the scripture you read or the whole thing. The Bible actually teaches you how to read it, Joshua 1:7-10. What really changed my life was when I made the Word of God my authority and said anything I believe will be from this book, that anything I would do would submit to the Bible and that I would pull truth from the scripture alone and every other teaching has to submit to the Word

Ah, I really have to empathise with those 'friends and neighbours'. The 1st time a friend told me about going to a Christian church, she was so enthusiastic that I ran a mile. I visualised smoky potions wafting over hyper ventilating, gullible people, who were whispered suggestive ideas to in their swooned states and lured deeper into a sham! 😂 Thankfully, I've only ever encountered the opposite. I've heard of churches with non biblical pursuits but not been a part of any of them. There IS where I've found truth that doesn't morph or dissipate when pushed to the last.

Seeing Tim-Josh's audience, recalls that of Galilean Jesus & Jordanian Baptist followers if the promises to Israel began fulfilled with the Two's like Europeans John Wycliffe & Hus similarly if not Faith is for all those shown the way by His Holy Spirit's currently, Iooking from perspective of St Paul's maybe surely profitable to all of us, God Almighty's armour is given to each faithful not unlike than Young David taken on Goliath's lest the Sword Shield of Spirit Faith's carried with us unseen won't be failing our "Trust & Confidence" on the TriOne Forever?!

What's interesting is that upon hearing the gospel of Jesus, people automatically assign roles to themselves and to those around them. This view is incorrect and I believe it is why there's division in the church, in our communities, and especially when it applies to politics. In reality, a person doesn't have to be in church leadership to have the characteristics of the Pharisees. One doesn't have to have wealth to have the attitude of the way wealthy people are spoken about in the Bible. Jesus points to these things so that we can understand the teaching better, but I'm afraid some listeners take it to literally mean that all church leaders are corrupt, all wealthy people are greedy, so on and so on. In college my Bible professor used to ask, "which one are you in the story?" Basically saying that your character and attitude is separate from the physical and tangible things about you. Unfortunately, these days we have leaders, political parties and corporations who are pushing the narrative that you're either good or bad based on how you look, how much money you make, your sex, your political and worldview, etc. and they do this because it's a way to ensure they have power and make money.

you mean literal voice.....noo not a compulsory thing Holy Bible is His direct word remember John 1:1 Word was God so pray for the Holy Spirit (God's) guidance as you study the Bible....God exactly speaks to you about your current situation...and helps you to actually see what the scripture means to you personally... it wont just happen like that... meditate on it ..you grow.. All the Best❤️

Hey Ben! Yeah, Mercy is 100% correct. Most people don't hear God's literal voice. But He does talk to us through His Word. The more we read the Bible, the more we understand what God is like. It makes it easier for us to tell whether a thought is something from God. God can also talk to us through vision or even nature. You just need a spirit of discernment, which comes when the Holy Spirit is in you. I hope this helped, God bless!
