John wick would have made it if there was cinematography into it. Despite its very commendable action sequences, any person worth a dime will realize that almost every scene and location on john wick was recycled from multiple movies before it. Especially the assasins hotel. Which happens to be the centerpiece of the movie"

I certainly wouldn’t categorize French Connection as an action film. Crime Thriller definitely, but not what can be considered an action movie. Where on earth is The Raid or any of John Woo’s Hong Kong movies? Tony Jaa in Ong Bak and Protector?

Mad Max2: The Road Warrior. This second film is so pure and focused on action and chase that it is one of the very best of all time. Not being on this list is troubling.

Being a DC fan for years I would pick Avengers over The dark knight on this list A big super hero team up seemed impossible before the avengers hit the theaters And crossovers happen all the time in the comics Marvel showed everyone that they can do it on the big screen But since this is an old video.. Infinity war deserves a spot on the list over the avengers Because the stakes were even higher this time and marvel delivered on it and exceeded all of our expectations

Was hoping that there was some actual research in here and not only some movies everybody has seen anyways, and some of which I wouldn't even put in an Action genre list.

Well then Philip you obviously aint open for that kind of art. It's one of the best movies ever made. The movie, the story, the acting and the action scenes are greatly performed. You say its historically incorect. Well please tell me, How accurate is any of the movies in the list? It's a movie about love, betrayal, hate, revenge, ALOT is in their which a movie needs. I rather watch a historically incorrect movie with great scripts and performances, than the other way around.

We all have different opinion on which movies should be on the list, but there is no doubt this 16 are really great

So the list was pretty good. Bourne Identity didn’t need to be on it because all the Bourne movies are almost as plotless as John Wick. There are several must-see movies missing from this list including but not limited too: Aliens, Predator, Braveheart, Saving Private Ryan, Star Wars and Big Trouble in Little China.

The only movie out of the list that I haven't seen is "The French Connection". Great movie selections on the action genre overall.

Predator, Saving Private Ryan, Braveheart... ☺ I'd say Guardians of the Galaxy and Deadpool before The Avengers on this list as well 💪🙄

For that, i need to do this: -Create a good story with good characters -Put a good visual style -Don't focus so much in action sequences (but make them very good) -Create a realistic plot -Use good cameras -Don't use any cliche

How this list didn't include Saving Private Ryan is beyond me. Gritty, realistic, solid acting, absolutely immense sound and graphical work to really deliver on the intensity of war really helped paint a picture of just how horrific it must have been.

Predator launched a whole series of movies, but the 1st one was the best. Gladiator was great, and so was Braveheart. No John Wick? Fantastic movie...

If you like the car chase scene in _Bullitt_ , you should check out _The Seven Ups_ (1973) with the same lead stunt driver, Bill Hickman, careening around New York City instead of San Francisco. Hickman was also the stunt driver in _The French Connection_ .

05:32 T2 came out summer of 1991, not 1992. I know this because I remember exactly when/where I saw it in 1991. It was that awesome!

I love every single movie on that list but Avengers didn't fit. The first Avengers movie was utterly amazing but it shouldn't be on this list because it is pretty much all CGI with a few exceptions. John Wick would have been a better choice to include, because it features some seriously amazing hands on action. Also the very best action movie was missing: No "Seven Samurai"? No list of action movies is complete without that gem by Akira Kurosawa!
