Well explained, for me both and a scope. If I had to choose would be tough and yes tripod is the essential key.

I use vortex 10x42 razor hd, and im very happy. I bought a their top of the line spotting scope and was very disappointed. In all honesty maybe my expectations were too high, but when I was using them I wasn't impressed by how far I could see and the eye strain was horrible. I usually set up camp about 6 miles in the backcountry so I would much rather have extra water than the scope. Im really intrested in those 18x56.

I’ve looked thru Swarovski spotting scopes that I wasn’t impressed with. Truth is a lot of guys aren’t built for them. I have a really hard time focusing with one eye closed. I’ll take my 15 power binos over the spotter any day.

I don’t want to carry both a spotter and a a large pair of bino’s, I my go with the 18’s but do you think I’ll have that much more advantage going with the 18’s. What I’m saying is it worth losing the field of view? I don’t carry a spotter do to the extra weight. My focus is on mostly back country AZ coues hunting. Also have you put your hands on any Maven 15x56 B5 binoculars?

If you do not like looking through a spotter and are okay with losing the ability to use a much higher power to pick out little details at longer distances. If you want to find game more efficiently with both eyes open and comfortably and still be able to see more detail than your chest rig then the 18's will work out great! There are a lot of customers making this same choice. Yes on the Mavens and they are on par with others in their price range but not what the Swarovskis are. -Cody Nelson

How are the Ziess Conquest 15x56 compared to the Maven 15x56

in dusk i better the 15x because more big exit pupil
