These things are awesome. When I was younger we had s body shop/junk yard, and we sometimes bought cars at auctions that didn't have keys. For that reason we had a set of those old school jigglers, that I used to use a lot in highschool because friends always locked their keys in their vehicles. These would be a great addition to anyone having to open lots of newer vehicles.

Seems to me like it will be a good idea to have them in the order of how successful you seem to be with them. So start with number two and if that fails to go onto the next most successful keep et cetera et cetera until you get to the key where it will only occasionally open the lock like the number one.

From MultiPick's website: "We now offer our most successful laser track key set in a stainless steel version. The new keys were cut from a one-piece solid material and enhanced by a mass finishing process. Further, the tracks were CNC-milled to ensure a much longer durability of the individual simulator keys. The set is suitable for car brands: VW, Audi, Seat, Skoda, Ford (Galaxy), Porsche (Boxter etc.). Key "7" is to be operated mutually (two differently milled tracks) and is designed for vehicles later than model year 2010. In combination with the keys "6" and "7" vehicles can be opened at least up to model year 2014."

Reminds me of a time 40-50 years ago when my father owned a Mk2 Ford Cortina (UK model). I found that the key to this car would open nearly every other Ford with a similar lock! You just had to use it like a rake. It had a high cut at the front and was pretty low elsewhere. Work it in and out of a lock whilst applying moderate tension and open sesame! I too used it in anger a couple of times to let owners into their cars when they'd locked the keys in the boot (trunk).

Having had a load of VAG cars, the age matters, the locks get worn over time and on a "well used lock" one can open them with almost anything that fits the key hole. Actually, its more or less the same with old European Fords, especially those with the "Tibbe" type locks.

I'm about as old as Bill and when I was young, I opened perhaps a dozen cars with coathangers through the window, mine a few times, mostly others who had locked their keys inside the car. A funny story, I started my therapist career working with adolescents. These were hardcore criminals with mental health and drug addiction problems, all "on paper" parole or probation. It was a 3 month intense residential facility but it wasn't a lock up. To help them integrate into society in a lawful, respectful way, we would do field trips to parks to play frisbee, bowling, museums, art galleries, etc. So, I locked the keys in the car. A cop was nearby and came out to help (possibly check on this woman with these kids trying to break into the car). He pulled out a slim jim and was trying it with little success. One of the kids asked if he could try. The cop said sure. The kid slid the slim jim in and opened the lock in about 3 seconds. The cop turned and looked at the kid with extreme suspicion. On the way home, we talked about it and the kid admitted that he used to steal cars. lol. Good times. I miss those kids. They were always on their best behavior with me, I treated them with respect, compassion combined with accountability. I was known as the toughest counselor, but also the most fair. My goal was consistency and modeling the behaviors I wanted from them. That was nearly 40 years ago. I only worked with adolescents for about 4 years, the rest with adults with similar population profiles. I'm retired now and a newbie locksport enthusiast, something I can do given my disability which precludes a lot of other activities. Great video as usual Bill ! :-)

They are better used in a "raking"way, instead of jiggling. Pulling in and out while also keeping turning pressure.. You will effectively over-lift the wafers. Releasing a bit of turning pressure will then set the wafers.

I wouldn't mind a set of those. The amount of times parents have locked themselves out of their cars and come pleading with me to get them in. I had an incident last Sunday where someone in the church who uses the playground to park on, locked a key in their car. Good job it's the holidays or we would have had a people carrier in the middle of the playground. My son did it too some years ago and we were at it until 2am trying to get the door open on his car.

What does being disabled have to do with that? I had a stroke 6 years ago and have major difficulty using my left hand and arm I still pick locks. Not well, or quickly or with the most finesse, but you make it work with what you've got. You have to, right?

this is part of almost any ADAC roadside assistance guys toolbag, mostly #2 though. the amount of VAG cars in europe, especially germany is so vast that most cars can be opened when somebody locks their key in the car... Audi, VW, Bentley, Porsche, Skoda, some Lambos, etc.

tbh as an autolocksmith i do tons of vag vehicles and these are very easy locks to pick and decode, the jigglers would be a more time consuming method of entry and as it wont decode has very limited application.

HA! My VAG car would be completely impervious to ALL of these keys! But only because it's old enough to use a classic edge-bitting-profile instead of an internal one, so... it would probably fall to a classic Bogota... :)

Those barrels are definitely from mkiii VWs. Mine is currently on jacks and stripped down to doors and wires in the garage at the moment; hopefully in the next day or two I'll get my door lock module. If you have an email posted somewhere, I'll send a picture of a key from my 98 GTI, and a 99.5 golf (which was probably the same interior parts).

I'm curious, what would he do with pictures of your keys? I would've thought it looked like he got those locks just to demonstrate these jiggler picks. It didn't seem like he would have any use for them after filming this review.

great video but wouldn't be easier to use lishi HU66 lock pick instead? You would be able to pick/decode and then cut keys to that locks without taking them apart.

An accelerometer built into the lock would detect the jiggling and set off the alarm. Wonder if VAG have thought of something like that.

Thats from the Website you should have mantioed that 180€ btw: Key „7“ has two different rails so you should flip it and its for cars after 2010. Together with Key „6“ and „7“ you can open cars up to atleast 2014.
