Great vid man. The only thing is I’m pretty sure the 151 Japanese can have packs swapped out without the pull tab removed. It can be slid out the sides. I could be wrong but it was an issue with other Japanese box’s.

An untampered box will have a matching stamped serial number on all 20 packs. If there more than 1 serial number, then it's highly likely the box was tampered with.

100% possible to reseal the box they can cut the glue from the sides or the front and reglue it I watch Japanese youtubers and they show this

My POV of the reprint living in Japan: It’s impossible to buy boxes here in Japan (they all sold out in like a day or two) - but just now, some Pokemon centers are selling loose booster packs! Max 40 packs per person, per day 💫 P.S. all staff, in every kind of store, always remove the plastic sealing on the booster boxes when selling (to prevent reselling, I guess)

Just came back from Japan, Pokémon centres in Kyoto and Osaka have a limit of 40 packs of 151 per person in queue, priced at 290 yen. They only sell loose boosters (no boxes) @@Jaksi-a

it’s really crazy that this set was around 120 to 150 now it’s as low of 90-73. it just shows that just because something has a high demand doesn’t mean the supply will be cut short. i also like how japan handles these prices they don’t want prices to go extremely up they understand the greed of people and decided to cut that off.

Man it's so good to see, I remember these being over $200 aud so I only ever got my made to order box for msrp now I'm pretty tempted to pick up another box to give to my boy when he grows up

You can open the 151 booster boxes with a hairdryer in one minute without damaging the seal or ripping the cardboard.

These are such true words. I think it's great that, even though you're also an investor yourself, you have such a thoughtful and fair view of this hobby. I see it exactly that way

DO NOT BUY WITHOUT SHRINK!!!! Unless you want a box with no chase card. Packs can be removed and replaced via the sides of the box. If buying from a big box retailers you could be ok as it’s unlikely they would risk their brand tampering with product.

I don't know. I've opened two boxes without shrink and I got 1 Erika's invitation, a Venusaur FA and a charmander, wartortle and two bulbasaur SIR. Besides a handful of ex's in both and of course two masterball holos.

I bought 12 boxes of no shrink from a dude and pulled two God packs. Kind of shook my belief and now I'm pro no shrink

If you can buy from a reputable seller then you shouldn’t have a problem even if it’s not wrapped in plastic.

Super glad we have this opportunity for 151 again. I will say, the one time I decided to go with a few non shrink wrapped boxes, they were resealed. No hits in any of the boxes. So my strategy has been to go with buying the shrink wrap boxes in bulk, then opening 1 or 2 for my personal collection for fun to check their authenticity, and then keep the rest for a long term hold. Great video!

Just opened 2 Japanese 151 boosters from a Vending machine in Sydney. They were $11 each. I pulled an art Dragonair, Ex Venasaur, and a Master Ball Meowth. Great pulls, but the cards felt.. thinner? Is that a thing for japanese cards?

I love this set!!! Do you think it's worth it chasing cards in different languages? Do the foreign cards have the same market value as Japanese or American prints? The simplified Chinese and Thailand sets look like fun to open

Good time to buy Japanese 151 booster boxes whether to open or keep in your sealed investments. Definitely get the shrink wrapped boxes. The seam should go around both sides and to the front. If you open a box the side flaps shouldn't pull away to easy and every pack should have the same serial number behind the back flap. Some resealed boxes will have the serial numbers wiped off which is another tell of a resealed box.

Just fyi, Japanese 151 is NOT reseal proof. There are actually a lot of reseals out there. What they do is they heat up the glue on the side flaps and pull the packs out that way without tearing the strip. There have been an absolute ton of reports of reseals. Happened to Cooltrainer Ryan. I’m not sure buying boxes without shrink wrap is very safe advice

Thanks for the comment. Someone mentioned this and I pinned it. I know a lot of Japanese sellers are removing the shrink wrap in an attempt to stop resellers.

im not a scalper . im a collector. I had to deal with a FB group that was pumping this 151 set up to ridiculous prices over 200 and dumping it on the community for months. Then it was reprint time and suddenly it was "150" buy now last chance! I got booted out of the group for telling ppl not to buy this and not to buy the felt hat pikachu. i dont touch jp. Rumor is they are going to print 151 into the ground

I’m glad they’re reprinting it to the ground, this set got so many new people around my age (30s) back into Pokemon and also our kids. I’m glad scalpers are getting burned here. More reprints = more cards for the younger generation which will keep this hobby going.

Terrible advice on the no shrink wrap apparently you have not held one of these boxes in your hand. You can easily manipulate the side tabs of the Box pull them down pull the packs out and people are absolutely weighing these packs. If you're going to buy a box make sure it is sealed pay the extra 10% don't cheap out and chance someone having taken all of your hits

I absolutely love this set (like all the other 80s/90s kids!) I was gutted they weren't available last year but I got my one made to order and kept it sealed. I'm now buying as much as I can afford, I figure in 30 years when I'm 62, they'll either be worth $$$ or I'll have the time of my life reliving 151 🤣 Also first time opening/collecting japanese pokemon cards (masterball is such an elite idea, gutted they didn't do it for Eng)! It's actually made me go back and start collecting VSTAR universe, incredible sets!

10-15% cheaper without shrink wrap, but the only reason someone would manually remove shrink wrap on every box they own to devalue their own product is because they weigh and keep every heavier pack and replace those with lighter packs. No shrink wrap is a direct confession that they're attempting to scam you lol.

Bro, how did you even get to this conclusion? In Japan they will release without shrink sometimes when it’s reprint. Pokémon official center are reprinting without shrink many times when it’s a reprint. I guess this has to do with the plastic

I’m glad the set has dropped as well. I probably wouldn’t be saying that if I was sitting on a couple boxes had bought at the $200 per box time. I was like you there is so many times where else thinking I should invest in this product and it was at the $200 mark and I’m very glad I didn’t at that time. It’s a reminder that anything can reprint, especially was in the one to two year window.

I'm glad for the reprint. It has gone down from $80 to $55 now over 2 weeks. I'm waiting for the next reprint to get more. I am tired of the the people that want to be investors without the wait and trying to force the product up in value. I love to invest and open packs, so I am loving this reprint.

I've openes two boxes so far and fine amount of hits, but I was dissapointed with the print quality. Not in thw SIR I got, but the pokeball holos. Each one I got have very clear print lines.

Overall good video but some dangerous advice. The tear strip does not offer any protection against reseals, zero. The boxes can be opened from the sides by pulling out the flaps, packs replaced, and then the sides glued shut again. The tear strip gives people a false sense of security. Plenty of legit sellers are selling unsealed boxes, but buyers beware.

I had the same experience. Masterballs were meh, bedrill and archanine and all of the pokeball holos have obvious print lines. I was very dissapointed.

What about Master ball holos? 151 are loved and MB holos are very unique.
