"The Charney girl"? What a horrible way in which to describe your half-sister. Peter was happy to ignore his father, yet take so much money from the trust; a right which he inherited from that father! What a POS!

Sometimes, deceased parents grant most of their wealth to the one that suffered most. My father was the first child, but my grandfather was working abroad despite having 6 children. As a result, my father became my grandmother’s helper, which also made him not attend school while all 5 did. When my grandfather was nearing his end, he gave half of his wealth and property to my father as a “payment” for taking his role as a father to his siblings. My uncle and aunties were unhappy about the decision, but it was luckily accepted.

I grew up with a father given up for adoption, but never adopted. His foster parents offered to adopt him when he turned 16 - he felt really bad and conflicted by refusing them, but he wanted his parents no matter who or what they were. I have never known, nor met a child given up for adoption, or fostered who can hear the parents say it "was for the childs sake" ... My father went to his grave wondering what was wrong with him that his mother didn't love him enough to try and keep him. I would like to take these so called parents and show them the harm and the damage they do, particularly when they cannot be brave enough to leave unsealed records that the children can access when they turn 18

When you've lived struggling, you have to be aware of income and costs constantly. It's a horrible way to live. Elizabeth gave her money to people who needed it. She rightly fought for her part of the trust. She learnt a lesson from the first money. And she learnt how greedy and malicious people can be where it's concerned. The loving connection that she had with her adoptive parents is strong and I'm sure that she would have seen that they were comfortable had she received justice.

I can't help sometimes but have a Google while listening. I do find it icky that when Peter passed away last year, there was a GoFundMe set up to help pay for his funeral expenses. He came across as a bitter, smug man, who received significant family trust fund payments, yet his children needed to hold out hands to pay for his funeral. I cannot help but somewhat agree with F.C. Dumaine that a Trust is smarter long term for the children than a straight, outrightinheritance. Siblings can be so nasty, especially when greed and money are more important to them.

The less said about his 2-faced sister, the better. On the other had, I feel it was very opportunistic of Liz to come after the family trust; she should not have pursued that because it ended up exposing hidden intentions, as much as I do feel that she is genuine about having relations with her half siblings.

Their Uncle Buckle controlled the Trust Fund, and by law, the ability to disperse the benefits from it. Even if Elizabeth had won her lawsuit, Uncle Buck still had the final say. Also, it's important to note that old man Dumaine gave Buck the final say as to who got what as stated in the beginning.
