Thank you for posting. Jakob is the only chap fit enough and brave enough to run these races properly. The others need to up their game, no reason why they can’t live with 3:31 pace.

Jakob knew he didn't have much competition here and was very cautious at the start (which seem to be his strategy nowadays) and he got it very easy to pass everyone on the outside while they were doing 3:37 - 3:39 pace. Hopefully we get better pace the whole race at the Olympics, and from more than Jakob!

Jakob must go down to 3,28 to win the Olympics.

Ingobristain looked a lot better than the mile he did in Portland America, when Josh Kerr beat him, think the only way Kerr can beat him in the olympics is to get ahead him and upset I go rythem ,but I don’t think this will happen .neil Gourley was only 2second behind in bowman mile, but got blown away the last 100 metres very impressive run from ingo

Absolute class! Runs the race to his own tune! No one like him. Imagine his level of greatness come the Olympics! I’m excited for the first time in a long time! Kerr will definitely be doubting himself.

3:31 is a slow race for Jakob, this wasn't a race with top tier competitors. He ran a 3:27 last year in July, for reference. The time he ran today won't win him gold in the Olympics.

I think in the Olympics it will be at least 2 seconds faster.

@@usa9558Like he dodged the bullets in Oregon, which was a proper showdown and Kerr beat him conclusively. What do you think has changed as a result of this win? Ingebritsen looked like he wanted to make a statement but he did not appear as fluid in the final 250m in comparison to how Kerr ran the last lap in Eugene. He had more than enough to beat this field but he won’t win the Olympics like that. Problem is, if he goes to the front two and half laps out, Kerr will pick him off. And if he delays, he’s not quick enough in the sprint and Kerr has enough to hold him at bay. I just don’t see the guy being able to win in Paris.

@@wifinomad8891 I don't know how conclusive you can call that win in Oregon for Kerr. Despite Kerr having the better top speed for kicking and Ingebrigtsen only having a couple months of solid training after injury, Kerr never put any additional distance between him and Jakob. Jakob sat right there behind him the final 600 not losing even a foot, that says a lot. I think strategy wise, Jakob will have to push the pace from the start in hopes of making it a truly honest race, not a sprint to the finish race. It's gonna be a heck of a battle between the 2 of them at the Olympics and then you gotta keep Yared in there, not as a likely winner, but as another incredibly talented athlete who could hang with them and make it more than just a battle for top 2, but a battle for top 3.

Amazing how some clowns think that if a certain athlete is not in the same race it's because the said athlete is dodging the competition. NEWS FLASH: to the newcomers to track and field. Athletes decide ahead of time what races they will run to prepare the big events like the Olympics or World championship games. Kerr for example does not need to be at every single race that Ingebrigsen is in or vice versa!! That is a juvenile way of thinking about track!!! And just as a reminder Kerr has beaten Ingebrigsen in the last 2 meetings.
