this type of escooters are great just got mine today, 1000w 48v and I commuted to work on it. I live in a hilly area and it worked fine, cost effective, and I'd recommend something like this to anyone needing an alternative and cheap way to and from work. It's also good on the environment.

i got mine in the mail 2 days ago, man is it fun, i went to bestbuy, walmart and target, all in within 2 miles from home, folded it up up it in a cart and pushed it in the store as i shopped, i was never questioned. alot of torque, it almost stood up the first time i hit the throttle, i dont have hills were i live, got up to 31mph using speedometer app on phone, ill get a gps watch to mount on this to monitor my speed

Hi Minhvu! I really appreciate that you took the time to review and revisit, it helped me make my decision. I bought the same scooter. I was wondering how sensitive your throttle is? On my scoot attempting to go just a little faster results in me going way faster and having to dial back the throttle to compensate. I'm sure I'll adjust.

Just a heads up on the controller that failed. He upgraded the new scooters controller that came in a few weeks ago (1500 watt ones). He said it was the only upgrade and everything else is the same. I think the tires were 11" though not 12". I'm not sure though.

I have the 1000 watt version and the one thing I've noticed with it is the battery box flexes a lot, this flexing makes the scooter feel unstable, I'm used to riding motorcycles so know that the frame shouldn't be flexing so much. It's a thought but the battery box should be reinforced to stop the flexing. In fact I would say the amount of flexing you get from the battery box is quite bad so much so that even if you don't sit on the thing and simply push the seat side to side you can see the battery box flexing. Do you find the battery box flexes on your scooter? At first I thought it was simply the seat post moving but then I lifted up the foot plate and pushed side to side on the seat post and observed the twisting motion of the battery box, I would say it's quite dangerous to be honest.

QUESTIONS; Does the charger shut off automatically at full charge? The controller looks different than the one they say comes with it on their site. The one on the site looks better. Do you know if they've upgraded the controller from the one you have? How much $$$ do you have in to it so far? (if you don't want to say, at least tell us how much the accessories you got from them cost (including the vnew rear tire, but not the mirror). Finally, are any small things like the hand throttle, gear chain, wheel bearings, steering bearings, motor gear, etc. wearing out or feeling flimsier than when new? PLMK

Hi Minhvu. Thank you for the video. You did a great job. Questions for you. Did you consider a gas scooter? The down side to gas, is that they're very loud. The upside is you add gas and go where the electric you need about 8 to 10 hours of charging. I"m tossed between gas and electric. What are your thoughts? Thank you in advance

  • @MinhvuLy

    @MinhvuLy

Hi. I had a gas one which sucked. Engine failed too often. Too much hassle of having to tune the carbeurator. Gas and oil stunk. This one has its problems too. Controller failed, roller chain broke several times. If you don't know anything about machinery then buy a legit scooter like a $5000 scooter you need to register with the DMV and get it serviced by a liscenced service center.

Scott. Thank you for your excellent question. Sorry to burst your bubbles but based on your advanced age and relative inexperience with high powered scooters, I would not reccomend this model for you. Instead consider their 1000 watt version. If you use a bike u lock around the scooter stem that will work just fine.

Hill climb kit or nah? I ride off road quite a bit so I'm undecided. Also, I know the acceleration would be incredible but a reduced top speed, but I have an 800 elite with the hill start kit, and it's good off road with the torque. Bottom line is, is the stock torque good enough for off road and major hills without the hill kit??

I really want the 1500w one but that's 1500 bucks I don't have that kinda money laying around but I was thinking about the 1000w one to just got do small tasks like drop off mail and maybe go get a bite to eat or go to the gas station to get a quick snack and I was wondering if this would be good for that? btw im around 140 maybe a bit more and im 5,'10 so would this be good or is there a different type of scooter that would be better?

On ebay there is a 1500w scooter for 599 obo. It isn't brushless so it only goes 35 mph but its almost 1/3 the price.

Do you see this scooter as being capable of towing an InStep bike trailer. I weigh 160 lbs and my two kids combine for 60 lbs. It would be low speed safe family riding - some hills. As long as I can mount the coupler it should work, right. Maybe mount the coupler on the upper shock absorber bolt? Handelinh shouldn't be much different than pulling it with a bicycle.

It probably has enough power for 2 trailers with 60lbs each. Replace the rear sprocket with hill climbing kit and you can tow 4 trailers no joke.

Rode it today for the first time. It is crazy fast. I couldn't believe the torque. The front wheel came up a few times when taking off - with a standard sprocket. It easily pulled my kids around and pulled them up hills with no problem. Top speed was also crazy. I'll try to get a reading. It even exceeded my expectations. Glad I saw the reviews on KZread. Even with all my research part of me was skeptical. I was worried it just might be a little quicker than my EVO 1000 watt and have a bit more torque. It was no comparison. The hills where I would have to zig zag to make it up on my EVO, the 1500 Watt SS powered up with ease. It pulled my kids in a bicycle trailer up hills faster that my EVO could go down them. Very impressive. I put rode for about 3 miles. Only the 35 degree temps kept me from riding more.

Can you adjust the current so the start up accleration is not so strong? My scooter takes off like a rocket with just a small twist of the throttle. Several friends have been dumped off when they try it.

There is a controller cable that you can adjust power with but I understand Chris will void your warranty. You could increase the gear ratio. a larger front sprocket or a smaller rear sprocket would do. I have 12/48 on mines. I recently replace the chain and sprocket drive train to #35. The original one wore down too quickly. I also suggest you just get used to it by starting up a hill.

Thanks, I ordered the cable from golden motor, also the regen braking is not effective, I think it is set to a low value.

adjust the controller power to what number to decrease the start up acceleration? through the max current, motor voltage, or FWD?

92% Acceleration means the time it takes for the motor to reach full power. Sometimes called "throttle upramp". 100 percent is full power when you hit the throttle. Lower numbers means it takes off more gradually. For example at 50 percent it can take about a full second before the power builds up to where you are holding the throttle. Allthough many people like to have this set at 100 percent, lower numbers are easier on your motor, controller and battery.
