I didn’t even know my rig was having an issue idling until this video it’s crazy how big of a difference these two lines make

I have a 77 fj40 with similar issues, going to check hoses tomorrow!

Have exactly the same issue for a long time already: engine light, rough iddle when in drive. Swapped all coils and plugs. No change. I will check this cable right away and replace it when necessary. Thanks a lot for this video.

Be sure to check all the hoses. Look for loose connections or split ends. Any loss in vacuum can cause that weird idle. Also take a look at your throttle body to make sure it’s clean and working properly. kzread.info/dash/bejne/mGqmmpabodLgdbQ.htmlsi=vrHc48-s52ZoGRDa

@@JungleCattmy cables were ok but it appeared my valves are way too tight. After aligning the vales to the correct values all my problems (engine lights, rough iddle, misfires on 1-3-5-7) were solved! I did not know these vales should be aligned every 60k. Most garages hate setting valves as it is a lot of work.

Usually the ignition coils go bad on the ride. Some coils come bad and therefore cause codes. Good thing yours was a hose only

Much Respect Boss.i have a 2002 Sequoia with the same issue 4.7l and I changed coils ,plugs , cleaned Throttle Body and still same thing... Going to change this now.. will let you know what happens

Woo hoo! That’s awesome. Issues like this can be such a pain to diagnose. Glad it worked out.

Something i need to do is slowly replace all the vacuum lines just as preventative thing

I’ll go this route. Had exactly same problem; rough idle, check engine light etc. changed all plugs and ignition coils myself but vehicle still had rough idle. Mechanic friend of mine checked it out but shook his head saying he couldn’t figure out the problem. I’ll update after I install the vacuum hose. Thanks again. Great video👍
